Do you cry more easily now?

I was talking to a lady the other day about something she was upset and had tears over, and she said, "well, I cry when the flag passes by, so that doesn't mean anything."

I've been more teary in the past year, too, I have noticed. If you read my post to Mare's thread below (What ya doing?) I talk about how coming home from a nice vacation had me sobbing in the airplane. Stuff that never used to get to me, like news stories, old memories, talking about certain topics I feel strongly about....I used to be able to just shrug off or get through them with little emotion, but now, the tears come.

Geez, sometimes I think I'm going crazy, but it's probably just perimenopause. Boy, I am really getting sick of ol' Peri. He is the reason for so many annoyances in my life and those of my friends. Just doesn't seem fair.

So.....are YOU more teary now than in the past?

I'm with you, I started menopause at 48 and that was my crying time. Now that I am almost 58 I am pretty much done with meno and also the crying... it takes something really sentimental or sad to make me cry now.

At first I was going to say nope not me.... but then I started to think about it and well Yea me too!

I remember when we got our home videos back from when I was a little kid, I watched them and I started crying at the very start and cried for quite a while after the dvd was over.

My trouble is i can't identify certain songs. I have no idea why they make me cry. Yes a sad song will make me cry when I'm more depressed or stressed. But any old song may get me going and i see no reason for it. Weird.

I have always cried easily.....over ANYTHING and EVERYTHING....Two things that always trigger my tear ducts are my folks....I hate seeing them age....and church...and church music...I cry through church almost every Sunday....I think it brings back memories of a favorite grandmother...and I just tear up....in fact tearing up now.....

Also strong emotion of any kind can trigger my tears....happiness..I tear up....anger....I tear up....I guess I am hopeless...lol...

Hugs, Ruth
