I have a day like I did earlier this week!
On Tuesday I had this woman and her little son come in to the library for some books and dvd's that I had ordered in for them.
The 3 year old boy was so excited it was almost like Christmas to him. He took each item in his hand and looked it over and then turned to me and said "Thank-You Lori" He neatly piled them on the counter and then came around my desk and said kiss and hug please.
His eyes were so wide open and he was so excited he grabbed his moms hand and said lets go home now so we can wtch the movies and read. It was so cute because as he was leaving he ran back and gave me a big hug and said "THANKS"
His mom told me that is how he works his weeks out, he askes if today is the day he can go see the library, or how many sleeps til he can come to the library.
I bet that little guy will be an avid reader when he gets older.
Yup days like that make my job so special.
Hugs,

Dutch your dgd's are very special girls, they are so bright and I bet that is due to how they are being raised.
Yup it sure did just like butter, melted it but good!
I agree we all need that.... and
Your right Jan, his mom is really doing him a great deed.
why thank you! I think they are pretty special
ds and dil do a lot with them..they get read to every night
plus whatever we do with them
I had a mom who read to me and an aunt who gave me my own hardcover books (Mary Poppins and Winnie the Pooh) and that was special to me!
(reminds me: you 'll love this..when I was a kid I had a bookcase in my room..I put stickers on the spines of my books just like a library..my own Dewey decimal system! LOL...also in 7th -8th-grade I helped in the school library..and in college I worked in the library of the campus elem school)

LOL I am not the least bit surprised by that,
Your welcome and I have called them many times. But they have tutoring now to help students improve on many of their subjects so hopefully they'll get into a college when they get older. It takes up all extra time for that. It's actually a very good program with many students and teachers volunteering but they say the little ones get read to in school now in prek so now is the time to help others. I suppose they're right and our school has an extremely high graduation rate and at least 3/4 of them go to college so it is working.
