ATV ride today!! & Chlorestrol news

Dh and I took the ATV out to the desert today. It was alot of fun and thank heavens I didn't see any snakes. LOL  Dh goes out every monday but this year I had not gone out with him because my allergies were giving me such problems. This week things have been better allergy wise so I said I would go. It was lovely out in the desert temps in the middle 70's and just a light breeze today. Not a cloud in the sky. He rides in a dry river bed where the soil is very sandy and along some more rocky paths up on the rim of the river bed. We did see some cattle as it is free range out there. Not a lot of flowers this year, it has been a much dryer spring for us since Feb. We took some sandwiches and sat beside the truck to have our lunch so we could have some shade. It was a nice day we did see quite a few people out there and even a few campers. Soon it will be to hot to be out in the desert in the middle of the day so nice to have a pretty cooler few days to enjoy before our summer heat hits. Suppose to reach into the 90's here by Sunday.

Had to go see my Dr yesterday for a check up on my chlorestrol meds. Been having trouble lately getting it to stay lower. My body makes the darn stuff and a low chlorestrol diet is just not enough. I cannot take the statins because for me they cause the leg cramps. HE had put me on a new medication three months ago. Had blood test done last week and then into see the Dr hoping the new med was working. It had raised my good chlorestrol HDL by 5 points good news huh? It had also raised my bad chlorestrol LDL by 40 points not good. So he changed me to a brand new medication and will have to go back in three months again with blood test the week before my appt. Wish the diet would be enough for me but it just isn't. The good news is my blood pressure is really good and the heart is in good shape so just have to get those numbers back to a better level.

Hope everyone has a good weekend.

HI Gabby

Well we will know in three months if this one is working for me. Keeping my fingers crossed and behaving with the diet. I sure hope you get your diabetes under control I am glad they took you off that med. Keep me posted how it goes with the Januvia.

Hi Cindy

Well the chlorestol is an ongoing battle for me but doing what I can do get it lowered again.

Easy to do get lost in the desert but dh is familiar with the place where he goes and the desert is not the way most people think. It is not all sand. But mountains, rocks and yes even some trees and lots of shrubs. Not the same kind of trees like you see where you live but we do have trees and even grass and flowers in the desert when we get rain. Of course there are those cactus.

Well now don't send to much rain Lor then we would not be in the desert and it would get all humid and stuff. We like it dry and dusty here LOL. Ok well dry but not the dust.

So very true Sooze. The desert is so very different than most people think. We think it is green here until we get back to the midwest and see how green it really is back there. Our country is so different from East to West.
