I have a question

Okay heres my question. They say walking in your home doing regular housework is considered excercise. So I was wondering since I probably walk about 4 miles at least a day doing housework does that count when a doctor asks if you walk on a regular basis? And how many miles do you think you walk a day doing housework?
Hugs to all Cindy
P.S. The picture next to my name is of my son and his 2 daughters in the front and his fiancee and her 2 children in the back.

I think Gabby is probably accurate......but SURELY all that walking counts for something!!!
I hate to say it but doubt that it is what they are meaning... darn huh!
Have you got a pedometer?

Hi Cindy
Nope house work doesn't count as actual walking. Because you can stop to do a task and even running the sweeper or sweeping a floor if you think about it you are not doing a lot of walking really just pushing the sweeper or the broom around. It works up a sweat but doesn't get the heart rate up as much as walking at a brisk pace does. Besides house work really isn't fun it is just work and it never really gets done. Going for a nice brisk walk and enjoying the outdoors is better you get your exercise and the sun provide you with much needed Vit D. You see people, nature, and it can really lift a person mood as well as provide much needed exercise. Less stressful on the body as well.
Good question Cindy
Love ya
Well I like to think I walk at least 20 to 30 miles a day doing house work but in reality maybe a quarter of mile?
This is a picture of my bedroom... now you can see why I don't do much house cleaning... ha ha ha!
