First of all thank you for your responses. Now if it doesn't count this is what I don't understand. When I clean I'm up and down stairs, zooming around the house pushing vacuum cleaners, bending and stretching dusting, then theres all the bending and streching in the bath, running back downstairs to throw clothes in dryer I work up one heck of a sweat. It's probably 4 hours of walking and very quick steps. When I go for a walk I don't work up a sweat. So why isn't considered walking? It's
I don.t have a pedometer but am going to get one.
Hugs to all, Cindy

You know it will surprise you just how many steps a day you do take.... a good thing to remind us to do more.
Your right on the working up a sweat that should account for something!
Hi Cindy
Well when you do house work you do work up a sweat because you are so busy. But it doesn't seem to count as walking. I have no idea why.
However when you do just go for a walk if you are not sweating it is because it is cool outside and you are probably walking at a much slower pace than when you are cleaning. You have to really maintain a good pace when you are walking for exercise or walk a longer distance.
HUGS
I try to stay away from doctors copays are high here so unless I really am sick I don't go but was just wondering about the walking. I just always figured excercise is excercise no matter how you get it but apparently I'm wrong.
There's not many places to walk around here exspecially alone and alot of dogs run loose. Not mean dogs but they follow me home and I already have 2 dogs don't need more Lol. So I thought I'd make it up doing housework but I guess it's not the same.
