I am afraid of the Swine Flu how about U

I am so afraid of getting the swine flu that today William canceled all of our plans to enjoy life in the near future.  Why you ask?

Well let me see... I had never heard of a community acquired MRSA  (ca-mrsa) infection which was going around and I almost died from it.  Afterward I came down with it... then  it was all over the news that the hospital MRSA infection  mutated into a community acquired MRSA infection but it  was not deadly to the "general population".  Hummm... that is nice for the "general population" but I found out the hard way I was not part of this elite group called the "general population" but instead I was one of the CDC's "acceptable casualties" who could die from the new MRSA infection  strain if not put on life support equipment right away. I don't know if I told you girls that William caught this ca-Mrsa infection from me but never had to be hospitalized. As a matter of fact he was allowed to continue working as though there was nothing wrong with him because he belonged to the "general population" elite crowd.

Now we are faced with the swine flu virus that is killing people and again we are told "don't worry about it".  Yeah right like this time I am going to fall for that line again... I can not afford this time to not heed the warning. William belongs to the general population but I don't.... errrrr....

For our 25th wedding anniversary (May 5th) we planned on renting a limo and treating our original  wedding party to dinner at the Rain Forest Cafe. I love that Restaurant it is my favorite place  on earth  next to Disneyland. Well we canceled the limo because if it was not cleaned properly I could get ill. And if anyone sneezed or cough in the limo or in the  restaurant I could get ill.  Then we planned on going to Disneyland and staying at the Disneyland hotel there and enjoying ourselves for a few days. But we canceled that little adventure toooo because... I ... (an acceptable casualty in life) ... would be around  all sorts of people from all over the world.

Now I know you are thinking I am taking this whole swine flu thing to far ha?  I hear ya...  Just because I almost died within 72 hours of getting a ca-MRSA infection does not mean I am going to come down with this swine flu and die ha?

Well lets see a show of hands of how many of you... if you were in my shoes... would chance it... knowing that your immune system is not up to par when compared to the general populations ability to with stand this swine flu?

Okay now see how many of you  would choose to stay  home until this whole swine flu mess blows over? It has to blow over some time  don't you think?

Are you girls afraid of getting this nasty swine flu bug that is going around.the world right now?  I heard that it is made up of Human DNA, bird flu DNA, and swine DNA? Now that is tooooo.... weird. How can 3 types totally different  DNA get all mixed up in one flu strain? Do you think this flu strain was man made? I do... because it's mixture is to bizarre to be a natural occurrence?

I am freaked out.... help! This is where I am getting my latest information about this swine flu

I would be very cautious too if I lived were you do. I live in a small town in the NE and it hasn't hit here yet but this is a tourist area and I hope it's over before summer really hits or I'll stay home and work on my garden all summer.

Hi Lei

No I think you have every reason to be very concerned about the Swine Flu with you medical problems. Sorry you had to cancel your plans but hopefully in a month things will calm down and you will be able to reschedule.

As for myself well I have a good immune system and am careful to wash my hands and use hand sanitizer when I am in public. Also do my best to stay away from sick people. Being retired helps because I can stay home and away from public places more often. So I am not to worried.

Take care

Aloha dear friend!

Okay I feel better after reading your reply RJ. I was beginning to think I was a drama queen instead of a Hula Girl. It is going to be interesting how this all plays out. For the time being I am sticking close to home. Boy I was really looking forward to cheering

Lei
