We went to the mainland to see if we could find dd a car. Dh has spent hours and hours checking out different lots to see what there is offered there, and had found about 5 different cars we wanted to look at.
We found that 3 of the 5 were not exactly as they advertised... ok that is putting it mildly they were a lot less in good shape than what they said. 2 were in great shape, but of the 2 one dd loved a lot. Anyhow we came into a problem the dealership closed for the weekend, but they did have a friend there who let us take it out for a test run etc. We would have bought the car right there after all that because it is really a nice car, but the guy who let us take it out could not do the deal for us. We would have to have stayed over for 2 nights and dh would have missed work today if we wanted the car... we thought about it but thought that is a lot of money spending on a hotel and then again on missing work and dd missing school, so we came home............ empty handed.
When dh gets home from work he is going to call the dealership and perhaps we will buy the car and go get it on the weekend, or we might just wait and see what else comes up in the mean time.
I went to Ikea and found some new pillows for dd, and got myself a new pole lamp and some candles. I could have bought a lot of stuff there but held back.
On the ferry ride home we were exhausted, so we grabbed seats and tried to get some shut eye... I found that the seats were way too uncomfortable to sleep in so I got up and walked around a bit. As I was walking around I was window shopping in the gift shops, and when I came to the closed and locked door I saw a woman inside the store. She hollered through the door if I could please help her, apparently they closed the shop and left and didn't realize she was in there.... and she was locked in.
This poor woman was pretty shaken up, I imagine she was thinking she would have to spend the night in there... as that was the last sailing for the night and it was all locked up tight. I went and found a couple of the ships workers and got them to come and let the woman out. I was hoping that they would have refunded the woman her fare for the inconvenience but they just laughed when they let her out and said well that is a new spin on shop til you drop, then they relocked up and left.
We got home late and it was after 4:am til I made it to bed. Not bad since I was up at 4:45 that morning. I did manage to sleep til about 8 so had a good night.
It is raining here today, I was hoping for some nice sunshine, but suppose we need rain as well. I am pretty darn tired today probably because of the rain mostly.
Hope everyone has a wonderful week!
Hugs,

Hi Lor
Sorry the car dealer was closed where you found a car you really liked. Hopefully when you dh gets home today they will still have the car and you can buy it over the phone.
I love Ikea. The one here is way over on the other side of Phoenix a good thing for me I always find something I can use there.
Good thing you couldn't sleep and found that woman in the shop. I bet she was really scared. Too bad they didn't offer to refund her fare but at least she was not stuck there over night thanks to you.
You had a long day my friend getting home and with that shoulder and not sleeping well I am betting the rain and being so worn out is what is making you so tired today. Hope you can get a nap today.
Love ya
Wow, you had quite an adventure and a verrrrry long day! Friday I picked Michael up at the soup kitchen where he volunteers every Friday and we were going to go to our regular co-op when I suddenly remembered it was May 1, and as it is a worker-owned co-op, they honor the holiday. That meant we had to go to Whole Foods (aka Whole Paycheck)and get our groceries, but I was reallly careful about what I bought and we only spent $100 for the week plus a few items that last way more than a week.
Hope dd gets a car at a good price and that she really loves. Crazy on that poor lady getting locked in the gift shop! Guess you weren't meant to sleep but to help her Lor.
Our weekend was rainy so dh couldn't putter around outside. After church we went to COSTCO and spent too much money. We aren't anywhere near an IKEA...good thing!
Have a great week Lori!

Ya it was fun... even the car shopping was!
Hugs,
Well Al has been on the phone and
Sue looks like you had a big time full weekend as well!
Hi Cappy!
Well dh has been on the phone talking to the guy about the car, we will hear more
Maybe there was a reason the car lot was closed and you couldn't get the auto. I think I'd have them do a carfax on it. Didn't realize you were taking a ferry. Isn't it cold on those waters?
Thank God you came along and helped that poor woman out in the store. Poor woman must have been traumatized enough and then have the shipmates laugh at her. How insensitive can one get.
I hope your able to get some rest now that your back home.
Thanks, Lor - all went well with Michael's colonoscopy...he says, yeah, the prep work was the worst. Thank you for your thoughts on my poetry, and, yes, Bill is an especially wonderful person...the world would be so much better if there were more like him.
Sue
