DH, DD and I saw the new movie Star Trek yesterday and it was AWESOME!

we LOVED it...it is how they all started..Kirk, Spock, Sulu, Uhuru, Scotty, Bones..really neat! like seeing old friends..LOL

special effects: incredible

so much fun...and I had a brilliant stroke of recognition with a lesser known character: Christopher Pike

I actually remembered the character's name from the original Star Trek series

I won't give any of it away

Sorry Sue about your Mil. The same thing happened to my aunt (the one that raised me) The doctors put a pacemaker in her when she was 97. The first one they put in her was when she was a strong 86 and she did fine but then they said that one needed to be changed. She felt fine and her mind was very sharp at the time and she said no. But they talked her into it. Now she had alot of money and no trouble paying for the surgery and I believe to this day thats what the doctors were after.

She went downhill fast after that surgery and we buried her a year ago. She died one week before her hundreth birthday. I just don't trust Doctors since then and try to avoid them. I believe they killed my aunt for money. Can't prove it but to this day no-one will convince me they didn't.

And yes being tethered to a body like that must be horrific. You could see the terror in my aunts eyes after the surgery when suddenly she couldn't walk or do anything without help. She was a very religious woman and wasn't afraid to die but she had always been able to get around herself. Luckily my sil is an rn and my brother took her in so she could leave this earth with her loved ones nearby and not in a strange place with a bunch of strangers around her. She also got so she didn't know any of us but she always knew my brother until the last 2 days and then as her system shut down they gave her

I think so..it's a good movie on it's own: great special effects, story can stand on its own

We were never really into it either...I did watch Star Trek on
