Hi ladies, newbie here...

Hi ladies,
Jumping in to say hello and introduce myself.

I'm Bridgette, age 44. Married, no kids, no pets. Born and raised in the greater Washington DC metro area, but currently live in the Madison, Wisconsin vicinity. Worked in retail for about 10 years, then spent the last 15 years as an Executive Assistant across several different industries. Getting *very* tired of this profession, though, so I'm thinking seriously about getting into portrait photography.

Photography has been a hobby of mine for ages and ages,(you can see some of my pictures by following the links in my siggie) but mostly it's been nature and landscape photography. Then a few years ago, I worked part time in a portrait studio and loved it. Unfortunately, though, it became clear that portrait photographers who are *employees* don't earn squat, so if I want to pursue this, I'll have to get my own business going. Sounds like it can be fairly lucrative if the business is marketed and run correctly.

I've been on iVillage for....hmmm...oh good Lord, at least 10 years now, maybe 11. Currently the CL on the Paranormal Experiences board.

I've been one of the core regulars on the Well-Being board for the 30-42 group for eons, but lately all the newbies on there seem so young to me and I just don't have the patience for them any more. Does that make me an old fogie now? ha ha ;-) Well at the very least, it's clear I'm just in a very different place in my life than they are at this point. And the other regulars seem to be drifting off the board, although we all still keep in touch by email.

So I think I'll try hanging out with you guys for a while, if that's ok, and see how things go. Looking forward to getting to know you all better,

--Bridgette

One would think with all the typos I make I would never notice anothers, but I seem to not only make them but also see them when others make them.

Hi Bridgette

Yes I love living in AZ. Always hated the humidity of the midwest and the cold an snow were something I had no trouble leaving behind either. AZ is totally different I think that any other state.

Well if you're odd, then that makes me odd too, because I'm exactly the same way! I'm often in such a hurry when I type my posts, I don't always take the time to proofread, so sometimes a typo or two slip through, but I *always* seem to notice when others misspell or use incorrect grammar. Drives me nuts. I'm very anal about that kind of stuff, especially on the internet, where the written word is often the only way we have to present ourselves to others. When you meet someone in person, you can smile, use inflection in your voice, use body language, feel their energy, etc. But on the internet, all you have is the written word to make an impression. I suspect a lot of folks don't think of it that way, or else they don't care, I'm not sure which.

Well hello and welcome to our board. You sound as though your pursuing your dreams and thats wonderful. Love your portraits but with the economy right now we're pinching pennies.

My name is Cindy was married and divorced and married again to a workaholic but wonderful man. Have 4 children (all grown up) and nine grandchildren. All very precious. I worked at Walmart for years but left a year or so ago when gas prices skyrocketed. Had to travel to far all my check seemed to just cover the gas.

I love home remodeling and am always changing my house around. Got my very first comp. in Jan. so am in the learning process in that area.

<<3 cats....does that make me a cat lady...LOL!>>

LOL, well.....
If you were living alone and had 3 cats, then yes, I would call you a cat lady, but since you live with your husband (I assume) then I'll let you slide on that one. ;-)

Thanks for the welcome!

So does this board have THREE CL's?

And yes, *do* check out the Paranormal Experiences board. There's nearly always interesting stories to read over there about stuff that people tell us have happened to them! Some of their stories are truly amazing!
