Hair loss...
| Mon, 06-22-2009 - 8:37pm |
my beautician has me concerned..she said..you are losing hair....
well, there is always some hair loss....sometimes it is seasonal....
how much is too much?
she suggests I have my thyroid checked...
now if I see hair in the brush or hair in the drain...I worry...
does it thin with age?
could the fact that I dye it be the cause? if so, I should stop
any ideas, buddies?

HI Barb
Unless your hair is very dry or brittle from the hair color that should not be the cause of thinning hair. Thyroid can be a problem and our age group women are usually at a higher risk for thyroid problems.
Our hair does thin as we age. Unless you see a big change in the amout of hair you are loosing I would not worry to much. However getting the thyroid tested is a good idea and if you are really concerned check with your Dr my friend.
Dear Mare
thanks for your input..I am weighing all the info
right now I think I will
1. give the hair dye a rest
2. call the dr for thyroid test
right now I am thinking it started when my hair was lightened...dil mentioned bleach...

I don't know if I did it somehow

I think it should be standard testing for thyroid as so many have it and are not aware.
