***HAPPY JULY 4th WEEKEND***
| Fri, 07-03-2009 - 10:08am |
Wishing you all a safe, fun and patriotic weekend.
What are your plans? We are going hiking in the mountains at some beautiful mountain lakes where Jude can swim to his heart's content. We will be avoiding the crowds at parades and fireworks this year.
Please remember those who serve to keep us free.
Warm hugs to you all!

Hi Cappy
Happy 4th!! With our dgs here we are going to a baseball game to watch the farm teams of the Kansas City Royals and the Cubs play a game. Will be lots of things for the kids to do as well as the game. Then fireworks after the game. The best part is it is free. Just have to pay for food but everything will cost only $1.00.
However a day in the mountains sounds very nice. It will be much cooler than here for sure.
Love
Sounds like your going to have a good time. I don't like crowds much. Is that beautiful dog going with you? Bet he'd like to swim to. Have a wonderful time with great weather.
Oh, that sounds like a fun weekend. I used to go to all the games at Dodger and Angel Stadium.

Hi Rose
That is great news about the funds for domestic animal services there. What a great cause you deserve the praise for working so hard for this.
I too am in awe of your Ds. It is those like him who help keep our country free. May god keep him safe and bring him home to you soon.
Happy 4th enjoy the day.

Very quiet here!!! No one home...
S19 road-tripped back to Iowa to help out my folks in Iowa for awhile. He got there last nite after spending a couple days checking out Loveland, Colorado w/a friend that moved there recently, so he will enjoy Clear Lake's great over-the water display tonite w/them - they always go to a friend's lakefront home & have front row seats (tho he did say it was raining when he got there last nite!). Then he will probably hit the Surf ballroom - they have some big name bands during the July 4th celebration weekend.
S22 will be bar-b-cuing w/friends in Phoenix & watching some sort of display somewhere around town I'm sure. Anything other than the professional fireworks displays are illegal in Arizona.
D33 & family were discussing coming to the river w/friends this weekend but it's been so blasted HOT I don't think it was sounding really appealing to hang outside in 115+ - & it's been a muggy heat this season. But if they do, I'll get the g'kids for an overnite.
DH supposed to be home some time today, will depend on when he gets called out & how slow the train is he catches out of Winslow. If it's early enuf, he mentioned maybe going out to find a spot to watch the Laughlin fireworks across the river tonite. They do a big show over the river, but I haven't paid it much mind for years since the kids have gotten older & make plans to go w/their friends - so it's usually just me & I'd just as soon avoid the big crowds & traffic it takes to get a decent spot along the river.
We don't forget those who serve either especially w/SD27 currently in the USAF having just returned from Afghanistan & being shipped somewhere(?) overseas again in a month or so. (That makes 3 of our 5 who've served - + DH served in the Navy back in the 70's).
You're plans for the 4th sound very nice!!:)
Hi Rose. Sounds as if you are a very caring person. So nice to have a good neighbor like you and what wonderful news about the Animal Services! Your hard work and determination paid off! Great job!
My oldest ds was military, then policeman and now works overseas alongside the military also. Never know where he is or what's happening. His oldest son (my oldest grandchild) is into his 3rd week of Marine boot camp at Parris Island, SC. Our country is blessed to have so many brave men and women. We thank your son for his service and I will add him to my prayers.
Enjoy your holiday.

Hey Mare! I saw on the weather this morning that you are getting rain in your neck-o-the-woods...if so, hope it doesn't spoil your fun with dgs

Hi Cappy
We did see a bit of rain last evening about 6pm. Didn't rain to long though. Today we have sunshine and more sunshine. No chance of rain at all today. Suppose to be a hot one. Already 100 outside.
Have a great day!!
Love
HI Mary,
It will mean at least they have more of a chance at getting in a home.
