I am PERFECT..LOL

It must be true..my doctor said so!! I had the blood work done to check my thyroid last week, the nurse called and said "the doctor said you are PERFECT" LOL (we had a good laugh, I know her, during the school year she is our school nurse!)

Soooo..good news and.....more mystery...hair loss is not thyroid....so...what is it?

Natural shedding? could be

dh thinks it is OA ..(Old age ..LOL) ..natural thinning of hair...could be

something else? I am researching other causes AND the hair dye I have used (Color Ton by Tocco magico)...my hairdresser requested I do..because...get this..SHE IS LOSING HAIR TOO!! and she is in her 40's !!!

at the very least, I am taking a break from hair dye...(.I would rather be grey than bald! LOL...but the roots look white/silver..I could be stunning!! LOL)

I have only just started my research but there is evidence a dye chemical, PPD, is harmful and has been banned in 3 countries in Europe (but not Italy where this is made)(but I do not know if it has PPD)

it does have 7 herbs, one is nettle...some people develop allergic reactions/dermatitis from it as well as from PPD

so my task is not yet done.....

I want to thank everyone here for their valuable input, as always...it is much appreciated

you gals are the best

hugs

Hi Dutch

Well if your Dr says you are perfect then as you said it must be so!! LOL Good luck with the research for your hair dye and about the hair loss.

I don't think I could let my hair grow out. I feel old just when the roots are showing before it is time to get it done again.

Love ya

A year or so ago I had a problem with my hair falling out. Actually had a bald spot on the top of my head. I never dye my hair and didn't know what to think. So I changed everything that touched my head, Pillows (got rid of the foam), wore only loose fitting hoods and not hats in cold weather, kept it moistened well (a couple days a week I'd mix mayo with a hair conditioner and let it sit a couple hours before showering). The Herbal essences mandarin balm seemed to work best. Trust me I tried them all. I drank lots of water.

I figure with being either in a heated room or air conditioned the air is dry. After all hair does have roots and when roots dry out they die. Oh yes I also put a little conditioner in a spray bottle and would spritz my hair a couple times during the day exspecially if I'd been out in a cold dry wind. I made sure I got the roots and would just run my fingers lightly through my hair and not brush it when it was dry. I have natural curly very dry frizzy hair so I figure if it snarls up pulling on it with a brush doesn't help the roots.

A little over a year my hair has filled in. No more bald spot. It's getting more managable everyday and is getting some body back. All I did was baby the roots.

And did we need a doctor to say you are perfect? No, we already knew that...dumb dr:) All kidding aside I'm glad its not your thyroid and probably might be related to the dye or the dreaded aging process. One question...has any female in your family had thinning hair? Since its not thyroid the next thing to rule out is genetics then go from there. Good luck.
