Is anyone watching and reading updates on the oil spill in the gulf? I can't help but be obsessed with it. Maybe it's because I used to live in Panama City Beach, FL. (met hubby there) and just love the area. I'm just horrified at what all I watching and reading about. Is anyone else glued to the mess?

HI Karla

I watch the new about it and wish they would get something done to stop that leak. I don't watch it all the time though. I bet having lived in the area you are prone to watch it more. It breaks my heart to see those wetlands covered with oil and all the poor bird and fish that are dying from that mess.

As I watch them wash those birds it's just heart breaking. I haven't heard anyone say what happens to them once they get washed. Do you know if they take them somewhere else?

Can you imagine if we get upset and frustrated how much more so the locals are? It's unimagineable.

I know how frustrating and upsetting it is, waiting for help after a tornado and floods. While difficult to deal with, they're here and gone, then it's time to clean up and rebuild. The oil spill is going on and on and on, affecting so many people's livelihoods. I feel so bad for the people down there. I wish there were something we could do for them, but other than a vacation on the Gulf, which is not possible, I can't think of anything. Any ideas?

I have no ideas. I wish I could go help wash animals but it's not possible. So very sad!

I did a bit of searching and came up with a few ideas. Supporting these organizations might help, as would buying something from the businesses down there.

It is incredibly sad and something which will affect us for years I'm afraid.
