I'm Going Mental

I was on the bcp, I missed a couple pills in June... took my last one around June 13... we decided to just forget the bcp and let nature take its course. AF came to visit on June 16. I haven't had another period since. Before the bcp I had really long cycles. Around 50 days and not always regular. If my cycle is going to be 50 days then I should have o'd on the 22nd. We bd on the 20/21. However, when we did bd that night he said that my breasts feel larger and heavy. There is only one other time that he has noticed this - the last time I was pg (we had a m/c). I've had symptoms (naseau, big sore veiny breasts, bitchiness, waking up at about 3:30 and not being able to get back to sleep). So I'm thinking I might have o'd earlier than the 22nd and perhaps conceived the weekend of the 11, 12, 13. I tested on the 22nd with a First Response Test and it was a bfn. I think testing on the 22nd may have been too early. I tested again on the 24th (again with First Response) and got a bfn. It was probably too early. I'm going for a test after work at my dr's. She will only do urine. Do you ladies think it's too early? Will the dr's office test be sensitive enough to detect it now? Also, how long should I hold my pee for this afternoon to get the best test result? 4 hours? That would be so hard considering I have to pee every five minutes. Should I also not drink any liquids? Would this make it more accurate as well? Please help me with any thoughts you might have. I'm going mental waiting to find out.

Thanks,

If you DID conceive on the 11/12/13 weekend, it might be okay timing for HPTs. However, if you conceived on 7/20 or 7/21, it's probably way too early to test. On another note, a lot of women experience the symptoms you mentioned shortly after going off BCP; call it a case of hormones.

If your results stay BFN: You mentioned that you have long cycles, as long as 50 days. This can be a sign that you are not ovulating (it's possible to get a period without ovulating, especially for those of us with long cycles). Have you been charting or looking for signs of ovulation in other ways? You might want to talk to your doctor about these long cycles, how to know if you're ovulating, and what to do to induce ovulation if it's not happening.

Good luck and baby dust!
