four months ago i gave birth and i am breastfeeding, no period yet, and that i know can be normal. Thing is that i have been feeling very weird, wanting to throw up especially with the smell of eggs, and chicken. i took a test about two wks ago and it was neg. next week i go in for gallstone surgery, also for like about two weeks on and off i have felt discharge with a bit of blood and only in the mornings. what could that be, is that a sign of pregnancy. please anyone give me some input.

There are some factors to consider when you are wondering if you might be pregnant while nursing. One is if you are exclusively nursing, another how often you are nursing. If you nursing often enough, AF will tend to stay away. I've seen someplaces say if you nurse every three hours around the clock, you have very, very little chance of ovulating. Others I've seen is as little as four hours. It is not unusual for mothers who are exclusively nursing to not have af until a month after their babies start eating other foods. With my first one, it came at 6½ months, exactly one month after starting solids. With the second one, I didn't get af for a year! (She definitely like to nurse.)

There are maybe other reasons for your food aversions. I thought I was pregnant until Monday, largely in part to my food aversions. I'm now realizing I'm developing a sinus infection. (I tend to get very sensitive to smells and such with them.)

I actually just had my tonsils out this past month and know that they will more than likely will run pg tests with your pre-op blood work. (They also did a urine test with me the day of.)

Good luck with your surgery.

Keep us posted.
