Frustrated....Update from DR.

The DR. called me yesterday and gave me my test results. He said that my level was 2-less than 2. So he wants me to take some pills to jumpstart AF. I am not going to take them, because of how I was when I was prego with my DS. So, I am going to a new OB/GYN on the 12th to get some tests done. I am going to demand a vaginal u/s. I do not want to wait till I am in my 2nd trimester again before I find out. If by chance I am not PG then I want to know why I am sick & tired 24/7 and all the other symptoms that point to being PG. I am so frustrated right now I want to scream and cry.

When I was asking the DR. questions he just kept dismissing everything I said by saying "the test say your not pregnant so take the pills I gave you. Its not possible for you to have been in your 2nd trimester before your hcg levels showed up on test." It was like what I had to say wasn't important because it wasn't in his medical books. I hate to tell him this but I know my body and what happened to me has happened to other women too.

I just don't know what to do. I am at my wits end. I just want someone to confirm what I already know. What do you think?

That is simple...drop your current doctor. He sounds like an idiot!

Any doctor that will not listen to their patient, or at least try to see what is going on, and just dismiss all questions/concerns, is not fit to practice medicine as far as I am concerned!

Find another doctor and explain your past and current situation, and what you want to have done.

Good luck... I hope you find a doctor to help you..

I agree, you've done the right thing in selecting a new doc. no one knows your body better than you and some docs are better about understanding that than others. I've worked with a lot of docs that are unfortunately #@!&%! -heads, so don't worry about changing if that is what is best for you and possible baby. Just be persistant with your history and the desire for a confirming ultrasound with the new doc and tell them you've changed to them because of the poor care and compassion at the other place-usually they'll want to make it up to you and make you stick with them.-Also, sometimes they have NP's that you can see if docs are too busy and they may spend more time with you and listen better and get that ultrasound order on the docs desk. Good luck and keep us posted! You are a brave gal and I'm proud of you for sticking up for yourself!-jessica
