Hey All! Another question!! I'm full of um! Is there some average number of weeks when most women find out for sure that they are pregnant? What are some of the experiences of those of you who've had babies??? I'm in the wait mode. Tell me if I'm wrong, but I've just counted the weeks since the start of my last period and think I'm 6 weeks along, if I am. Thanks! :)Missy <-------hoping and praying and waiting and worrying! haha

I am pretty sure it is 2 weeks. When i went for a pre conception check up, my doc told me that 2 weeks after intercourse to come in for a test. If you are thinking 6 weeks then if you go to your doc they should be able to see the sac. I hope you are. A blood test would be awesome if you could get one, I know those show up positve one week from conception.

I had a postive pregancy test at week 4. The doctor confirmed my pregnancy with a blood test. They should be able to tell if you think you are six weeks along. Best of luck!

Your due date is usually calculated based on the first day of your LMP, however the baby isn't conceived until 2 weeks after that (based on a 28 day cycle). So, when you are late for your period, its normally at 4 weeks from your LMP, which is when most people would test positive for a home pregnancy test, however at that time the baby is only really 2 weeks old. The doctors use the date of your LMP as an easier way to figure out the due date, even though its not really accurate.

Most women that aren't trying to get pregnant, and may not be watching closely, won't find out till they are 6 weeks past their LMP, so the baby is 4 weeks, though the doctor would call them 6 weeks pregnant. But women like us that are trying and waiting patiently, usually find out during the 4th or 5th week!

Thanks to all!! So, I was calculating how many weeks I MAY be along correctly....starting from the first day of my last period. I'm hoping my test will show it monday! That would be week 7.....granted, I'm sure I'm not ovulating at the 14 day mark. So, for example, right now technically a doctor would say I could be 6 weeks pg, but you're not really pg those first two weeks....if you ovulate around day 14. But, in my case, having longer cycles, I'm thinking that maybe week 6 would really equal week 3 for me to really be pg.....if that makes sense! lol It's all sooooo confusing!!!! But, the bottomline is that I think there still is hope for me and others on here, too!!! Thank you SO much!
