Hello all... my name is El... I'm 24, my fiance is 30, and chances are very good that we're expecting our first... (won't find out for sure till my gyn appt. in 1 week)... however... in discussions with him, he is bound and determined to make me take it absolutely and totally easy for all 9 months of my pregnancy... while I respect the fact that it's his baby, too... I also need to make him understand that 1. it's still my body... 2. physical exertion is not going to cause a miscarriage... 3. that the more he tells me I can't do something, the more I'm going to do it...
I've tried explaining all this in layman's terms (I'm a nurse, he's a mechanic)... but he doesn't seem to get it... :( and I'm starting to get frustrated...
So.... if anyone has any advice for me, it would be very well appreciated... :)

How about try this. Be patient and kind to him. Be grateful that he is overly loving and caring and not indifferent. Give him time to get used to the idea and he will come around. The idea of taking him to all of your appointments is a great idea too. I do not want you to misunderstand me and think I do not understand how you feel. I do. Just think about it this way. You can either butt heads with him for 9 months or you can take his little crazy hand and help him to understand.
Happy and Healthy 9 months to you.
