I just found out yesterday I was pregnant, which shocked me, because I have been having cramps and this light, mucusy stuff for three days or so, which I assumed was AF, because that's usually how AF shows up! Now, does anyone else find they have alot of cramps, or discomfort they would normally have during their period? It just seems weird to me, so I wanna make sure it's normal??? thanks

It is very possible to have cramps when expecting AF or even some bleeding if pg, that's why some woman don't know they are pg because they think they are having AF. I just wanted to say that I was due for my AF on 8/22/03. My cycles have always 28 days, never a day late. Well this cyle I was 11 days late, then to top it off all I had for 4 days was very light spotting to very light bleeding, which is normally heavy but I could have used 1 or 2 tampons for these 4 days when normally I would go through almost a whole box(TMI). These 4 days were from 9/01-9/04. Today I have some lower backaches and every once in a while sharp pains through my abs, I'm starting to wonder if it was possible I ovulated late, that's why i was late and maybe it was implantation and not AF. Would it be worth taking another test or am I just fooling myself. Any advice. ~~Baby Dust~~

I am having cramps too. Have for the past few days just like when AF is coming. They are subsiding somewhat now. AF should have been here yesterday. I am going to test tomorrow am. I have heard that sometimes when you are pregnant you feel like AF is coming.

I'm having cramps too, but not standard AF-style cramps. That normally is only lower back pain. This is more frontal. I'll test in a couple of days to see.

Hi and congrats! You can definitely have AF-like cramps when you are pg. I too thought for sure i was getting AF (i even talked my dh into taking me for sushi) and the next day i had a positive hpt. I was freaked out about the cramps but i have talked to a zillion people (and read a ton of books) and all say it is normal in early pg - due to the uterus and ligaments stretching. Hope this puts your mind at ease (it took me a little while to be convinced!). Good luck and feel good.
