How long do these cramps last?

Hi,

AF is now 4 days late, and since 2 days b4 she was due I started getting cramps. I know, from reading this board, that this is normal (so why do half the pregnancy websites and books NOT mention it?!). And if I am pregnant, this could be a sign, even though I expect AF to show up at any minute. But I've had cramps for 6 days now. Is THAT normal? (I've got 'the runs' too. TMI? :-) )

I'm not letting myself do a test till Wednesday, BTW. So I could NOT be pregnant. I don't really have any other symptoms so I really have my doubts and am trying not to get too hopeful. But if I am PG, how long will the cramps last?!

Hi!

I had very bad cramps just before AF was due -- and for about 5 days after she was due. Usually, I have cramps for 1/2 day and she comes like clockwork. I too waited to test because I simply couldn't believe I could be pg... DH and I didn't try at all. I tested six days after she was due and I got a very dark positive line.

Each woman and pregnancy has different signs. We may have some similarities - but it's hard to document. It would be nice if we all had the same symptoms- so this was a bit more predictable! UG. But then, we'd not experience the 'miracle' or the uniqueness of the individual.

Go get a test and see what's up.

Oh yes, and to answer your question... I am still experiencing cramping in month three. I was told that cramps continue in one form or another throughout pregnancy.

Cramps in the third month still? Phew! Well there's something to look forward too. ;-)

I'm usually the same - bit of cramp the day before AF, and maybe for the next couple of days, but never for 6 days. The reasons I'm skeptical are that this is our first month of seriously trying for our first baby, AND there's a tummy bug going round here in The Netherlands. So I'm not holding my breath.

But I'm also driving myself round the twist on the Am I?/Aren'tI? rollercoaster, so I'll test tomorrow as soon as I get home. :-)

Thank you for answering me so fast; it helped a lot! :-)
