OPK v. HPT

I know this question has been asked a million times between all the boards I've read but I haven't found it asked this way. I know there have been a few girls out there that have tested with an OPK when AF was late and gotten a positive so they decided to take an HPT and it was BFP. I've also seen it where the OPK was positive and the HPT was a BFN. Has anyone tested with an OPK gotten a negative but then gotten a BFP HPT? I know this sounds stupid but I'm 11 days late (from last cycle) and took an OPK a few days ago and it was negative. So I haven't gone and gotten any HPT's. After 2 years of TTC, I hate seeing BFNs so I don't buy the tests anymore. In the first year TTC, my cycles were crazy but since Oct 05 they've ranged from 31 days to 41 days with the last few being 33-36. Today is CD45 and I just don't know what to think. So, with the OPK being negative could an HPT still be +. Any input would be greatly appreciated. TIA!
