not trying to get pregnant, but......

I've had breast tenderness for about a week. I'm due for my period in a week from now. Could I be preggers or do women just have breast tenderness for no reason sometimes? I never this symptom associtated with my period, so my curiosity is peaked. I have 2 preschoolers and am not trying for a 3rd, but would definitely welcome the surprise. Now that I'm freaked out, I'm dying to take a pg test, but I don't know how early they work.

Any comments are appreciated, thanks!

I am not one to have breast tenderness after ovulation but some women do (and I probably will next cycle just because I'm saying I dont LOL) It is a common symptom after ovulation so its hard to say if its pregnancy or just ovulation ? If your period isnt due for another week then I would say its probably too early right now to have breast tenderness from pregnancy but you could be pregnant too, its really hard to say either way. Update when you find out what's going on!

Thanks. I'm expecting AF in 4-5 days now, and am still having breast tenderness 24/7. I have no idea what's going on here. We don't use birth control other than being careful around my ovulation time, but accidents can easily happen. Even though we're not trying to get pg, I'm a bit excited at the prospect, even though the possibility is remote. Still though, what is up with the boobs hurting???? I'll keep you posted.

Yes let us know!! My boobs hurt soooo bad when I was pregnant with my first (I dont remember if they hurt before I found out but I know they hurt BAD after I found out.) It was hard to even lay on them at night.

I just hate to say "Yes hurting boobs is a sign of pregnancy" when it could just be a sign of ovulation and you arent pregnant in the end ya know? Dont want to get your hopes up for nothing.

Well the funny thing is, my boobs never hurt around ovulation or my period. I ovulate around day 9 10 and 11 of my cycle, and right now I'm at day 22. So, I'm not thinking it's ovulation related. They've been tender for about a week now, which makes me think if I was pregnant, it would've been a bit early to be feeling signs of it a week ago. I'm so confused! While a part of me would be exited if I was preggers, I won't be sad if I'm not. I've got 2 and 4 year old little girls and we are totally blessed as it is. All of this is just playing with my head at this point!
I will keep you posted, and thanks for your input.

Cheers,

Update! I am NOT preggers. I still have no explanation for the weird breast tenderness. I never had it before. Oh well.... Thanks for all your posts!
