In April my boyfriends condom broke. Could I still be pregnant even though I'm on birth controll. I've been having cramps but no period. So I'm a little worried that I might be. I never took a pregnancy test because I didn't think I was but now my family is saying I've been gaing weight. and I don't know it is because I've just been not watching what I eat or is it because I'm pregnant. If I am pregnant then I should be around 10 weeks.

Please help me figure it out! thank you

If you haven't had a period, the only way to rule it out is by taking a test.

Let me tell you a story about my 1st daughters conception...On pill but condom broke. Didn't think anything of it my period was due in 3 days. I figured that if I "O"ed it would have been weeks before. when my period didn't start in 3 days I took a test right away and got a BFP! So off the pill I went and I have a beautiful, happy and healthy 10 year old. Please take a test just incase...If you are still on the pill and are pg you and the baby could be at risk. It would be better to know for sure!
Lots of luck

I have had similar experiences in the past, and it scared me to death. Sometimes if you have just started taking birth control, it can effect your period as can so many other things like changing your diet, changing your excersize routine, changing your schedule, stress, etc. Do you have any other symptoms besides not getting your period? Morning sickness, fatigue, and breast swelling can all be signs that you are pregnant. If you haven't had any other symptoms, I wouldn't jump to conclusions just yet. However, you need to find the courage to take the test. Have a friend or someone close to you accompany you. There are plenty of women who recieve false positives for a number of reasons with at-home pregnancy tests. I would visit your gynecologist for the test, and if pregnancy is ruled out, you can then detirmine what is making you miss your period.

As far as the weight gain is concerned, I'm not really sure. Are you gaining weight all over or just in the tummy? If its just in the lower abdomen, you definitely need to make a visit to your doctor a.s.a.p. Stop smoking, drinking alcohol, or taking any over the counter drugs until you know for sure.

If you do find that you are pregnant it is really up to you after that, and options can be discussed with your health-care professional.

I hope everything works out for the best for you. I'll be thinking of you!
