Light positive at six weeks?

I have been incredibly nauseated the past week and a half. My friends told me I was pregnant, but I'm on the pill (ok, so I missed a few last cycle) and I had a period two weeks ago. My husband and I have ridiculous schedules so I know the last time that we had sex (other than the most recent time that wouldn't show up yet) was Jan. 26. So this morning I took a HPT just for the heck of it, thinking it was a waste because I'm definitely not pregnant. But then I got a freaking positive. I was/am pretty shocked. But I'm also spotting (which I did with my son from week 6 to week 11) but I also stopped taking the pill last Thursday because I thought maybe it was helping me feel more nauseated on top of whatever else was making me sick.

Anyway, I went to the doctor today for a blood draw. But I won't know for a few days. I'm going to take another HPT tomorrow morning. I guess my question is, shouldn't the positive be much darker? It was light. You could definitely see it, but it was light. That would make sense at 4 weeks pregnant, but not at 6 (which is where I'd be if I were pregnant right now.)

Any thoughts?

I feel the same way. Monday I took a HTP and it was confused because it was so light. So I decided to do another a few yesterday and it came out darker. So I called the Dr. and I have an apt on Thursdays. I told my husband and I am hopeful but I do not want to get my hopes up, because you never know.

Good Luck!! I am sure the b/w will come back with good news.

omg i just looked at your pic and i bet i'm so pregnant. omg omg omg! i'm gonna crack up if i really am!!! this will be #4 and #3 is only 8 months!!!! ACK! but i have a similar prob. usually a crazy cycle. took us a loooooooong time to conceive the first two. miscarriage when #2 was 4-5 months old. with our #3 i tested negative until i was 12 weeks!!! i had blood tests and the nurse actually told me to quit wishing myself pregnant and enjoy the children i had and i almost died on the spot it made me so mad! i assured her i KNEW i was in fact pg and she needed to get me a pelvic to make sure. they wouldn't. a month later i went in with my slight belly and got a bfp and made SURE to let them know how much i appreciated them doubting me. it wasn't until they got my US pics back that they'd give me a due date cause they were SURE i was only a couple weeks! jerks! so when i was late last week i bought 3 boxes of tests and a handful of $ tree ones. i got 6 faint positives after the 2-3 minutes so i'm freakin out a lil bit.......i'm gonna wait till i'm a month late and if no AF i'm gonna try again! and start figuring out where we're gonna add another bedroom onto this house! LMBO!

I have to say it is comforting to know you were testing negative until 12 weeks.

don't give up! i was like this with our first too! i took a bazillion tests. all negative, about the 12th one finally showed positive and when they did my ultrasound a couple days later i was over 13 weeks pregnant!and i don't know why they can be so slow about a pelvic, they all know those tests are unreliable. i guess they hate to tell
