Hi Friends, unfortunately had a few days of "Blah' so not able to post, do hope you are all well, Martha I will probably be a little late in wishing you are wonderful trip to your DD, it all should be great.

Judi, I read a few of the posts & your news of the $3,000 reduction in your account is wonderful, however could they make an error like that, I don't like to be nosey but what treatment was it that cost so much, it just seems awful to me to have to cope with the illness, then have to worry about the financing of it.

It is Mother's Day here Sunday, I am not sure if you celebrate yours on the same date, we usually take our family out for lunch somewhere nice but this year I just cannot make it healthwise, so we are going to buy a suitable meal in, probably lasagne as this is a big favourite with the children, I have bought cheesecake & cakes suitable for dessert, so it will be easy. I have to stay in my own home at the moment for comfort, our DS will organize the food & serve it.

I have decided I will set the dining room table more formally this time, usually when the children come they like to be casual although DS & DIL are fairly strict at home about them sitting at the table for meals, so tomorrow will have get the best china & cutlery out & wash it all up ready, as it has not been used for quite awhile.

I cannot stand long enough now to cook for a number of people, so we must adapt to something else.

I will say Bye for now, Hugs & smiles to everyone. Doreen.

Doreen - I think your plans for Mother's Day sound wonderful - I'm sure no one cares who cooked the food - but you will have your family all around, and that's what counts! Sorry you have been poorly - I had missed you on here. I guess I'm the only one not celebrating Mother's Day this week-end - England had theirs in March! So have a wonderful day - Rosemary

Doreen.

Glad to see you are feeling a little better and at least that you can post. We always miss you and I think that we are sure that you have those dreaded blahs when you are missing. It is certainly understandable as you have a lot to endure with your health.

It is Mother's Day here Sunday too. I love that you are having the festivities at your house and that you are making it a fancy affair this year. So nice of your DS to help out. Afterall it Mother's Day and you shouldn't have to be doing anything, but enjoying your family.

Have a "good" day and enjoy the moments as they come..

Hugs..Becky :-)

Do have a wonderful Mother's Day. It sounds like you have raised a really nice family to be proud of. Enjoy that meal at home with the good china. I like that! Really on Mother's Day here I prefer NOT going out to eat, and we won't be. I'll be in Pa. with my dd and we are just having stuff brought in.Very casual. That's nice too, but I like what you are doing.

Doreen, I'm so sorry you are so housebound. You do seem to have a lovely place to be stuck in, and that is a good thing.Wish you didn't have pain.I'm such a chicken I fear that when it comes--and it will--that I'll be a crybaby.Hope the days get better for you.

Our health system leaves a great deal to be desired. We throw money all over the world but have a time helping our own.martha

Our Mother's Day is this Sunday also--the 11th. We won't be getting together with our family because we all live too far apart, but I have already received cards from both sons and families and one son put a note on it to look for a special package to arrive. DH will probably take me out for a ride, maybe go check out the lake and have a cup of coffee on the waters edge with our feet dangling off the wall that edges our waterfront.

Your Mother Day plans sounds fantastic, and I think it is so wonderful that you are taking out your best china and setting a fancy table. The DGC will always remember that and how special it was at their Grammy and Grampy's house when they had dinner together. It seems funny you should mention about setting the table with the good china, because we had company last night and I brought out all the best and made the table real pretty--got to thinking, what do I have this for and when am I going to use it, so I dug into that china closet and even ironed the "no iron" tablecloth!

Hope your feeling better Doreen! Just the idea that the family is coming to share Mothers Day with you is something to cheer you up and seeing as we are friends over the miles, I am going to send you one big cyber hug to help fill in your day. ((((DOREEN))))

Love from you MA friend. Bea

Doreen, I'm glad your "blah" days are over & that you've posted! Your Mother's Day sounds wonderful...using the "good" stuff is fun. We used ours for Easter & our DGC thought it was pretty special to drink milk out of the beautiful ruby red goblets that I had received as wedding gifts 43 years ago.

Enjoy! Cal
