Cal - bless you for being there for your DGS - I think the one real gift we have to give them is time - we can stop and look at cranes, flowers, ducks, etc. and not be on a schedule to get someplace.
Bea - sure hope your Chinese meal went well. We have a wonderful Chinese restaurant a couple of blocks from here - I could do that too! As for the pc - everytime I start blaming AOL or Ivillage, I just remember that they all work so wonderfully on DSIL's computer, so I'm thinking it's all in the machine!!
Judi - double good news for you - good check up and good reduction on your bill. Thats really wonderful. And...if you feel like hopping on a jet - come ahead! Would love to have you visit.
Becky - can I come to your dentist? Only $62 for a crown repair???The last time I went for just a cleaning I came out $145 poorer. I don't even think they open the door to you for less than $50. Fortunately I never need anything but cleaning. :o)
Martha - in case you get busy in taking off on your trip - just enjoy every minute. And, hope you don't pop your buttons with pride at DGS's graduation. What an achievement - and when I look at my little 3-year-old, I just try to imagine what things he will achieve in his lifetime. Hope I get to see some of them.
Darby - I assume you are collecting big rocks. My DH is a rock collecter, but fortunately small ones. Always on beaches, he is bent over picking up little things. My SIL asked me a few weeks ago when we were in Wales, "what does he do with the rocks he collects?" I said, he puts them in a bag, they go in the hall closet, and after a couple of years, I throw them out and he never misses them! LOL! We have a revolving door with the rocks!
Velma - welcome to our happy little group. As for being a computer illiterate - we all were only a couple of years ago, and with this new board, it put us all back to square one. So glad to have you with us - and will look forward to your posts. I'm a NJ resident temporarily displaced in Oxford, England.
Betty - just hope your "stuff" was good stuff, and that you got it all done!
Mindy - glad you are getting back into your exercise routine. I know you missed it. Did you put on weight while you couldn't exercise? I think I would - and with your cooking....wow! I'd be in real trouble!
We are still missing Lottie and Avonne - sure hope you are just busy doing "spring" things, and haven't had storm troubles.
Today I am cleaning, shopping, and getting ready for my friend to arrive tomorrow morning. My one and only visitor!! This is the friend who postponed her trip in March - so I'm so glad she is comfortable coming now. When we were planning this leave, I would have been totally upset if I had known no-one would visit - but with the world situation, etc. it just hasn't worked out. So - I'll have 5 days with a buddy to chat with, and to show her my turf!
Hope you all have a happy holiday week-end - will try to check in when I can.
Rosemary

You are the best at catch up posts. I always feel like I have been caught up too.
I am so happy that your friend from the states is finally getting to visit. I bet you all will talk each other's ears off and your jaws will be tired from all that chatter. I know it will be fun to have a friend around for a few days.
One of my DGS's collected rocks when he was little and I have a small box of them still here at my house. The 3 year old found the box the last time he was here and he was facinated and kept busy for quite sometime looking at them. I really thought that was funny that you just throw your DH's collection out periodically and they are never missed by him. Can you imagine what it would have been like if you hadn't done that.
It sounds like you are off an running today and we are still slowly getting up. Enjoy the rest of your day getting ready for your friend.
Becky :-)
Oh well, enough about that stuff, am now getting ready for lunch out with the girls. Sure wish the sun would come out and put a little sunshine on our afternoon! Must get moving here, a good day to you. Bea
I bet you will be so glad to have your company..I know you miss your friends so much but I think you are able to make friends where ever you go..
Have a good day..Hugs Judi
