Hi Girls, well I have finished the book today thank goodness, as you all want to know the ending I have to tell you, firstly my DGD Amy assures me this is a clever & cool book, the writer apparently is a well known Aussie ( I have never heard of him ) who writes weird & wonderful stories, I certainly agree with that. The wretched appendix swallows the cat, dog & rat & then swallows little Trevor so they will always be together, I was so grateful the book ended as I was really worried the whole class could meet the same fate.

I just cannot get over how things have changed, I brought our DS up on Dr. Seuss books, also started the DGC off on them, I would not try to hazard a guess how many times I have read The Cat in the Hat & also all the others, firstly to DS & then the DGC. now look how things have changed, I am starting to think it is me alone who still thinks Dr. Seuss is cool although I do notice they still like a melodramatic reading of Horton & the Egg.

Hope you have all had a peaceful sleep & a happy day ahead, the episode of Raymond we saw last night was priceless. HUGS Doreen.

Hello Doreen,

I must agree that was a weird little book, but you did make your DGD happy by reading it.

My children and grandchildren were also brought up on Dr Seuss and I had to read them all many times too. I love Cat in the Hat and another favorite of mine was Green Eggs and Ham. Dr Seuss was a genius with rhyming and the kids love it.

Hope you had a nice day and that as evening comes that you are settling in for the night.

Becky
