Another rainy day here

Good morning to you all. It's raining again today and getting very depressing. Of course, the prediction for the weekend is warm and sunny and wouldn't you know I'll be working. The toughest part of retail work is getting used to not having regular Monday-Friday office hours. But it's nice to work only 3 days a week, and the jewelry store is very good about trying to let everyone have off the days they need.

I'm sorry I missed Doreen's birthday. Here's a belated Happy Birthday wish for you.

Back in 1960 my roommate had a Percy Faith record album of Cuban music (it was a 78 rpm; remember those!)labeled "Maleguena", and we played it constantly. Well, I came across the same album in CD form recently and couldn't resist buying it. It sure has brought back memories, especially of her trying to teach me how to Cha Cha. It was hopeless--I couldn't Cha Cha at 18 and I still can't.

I've got to send dd an email, then get ready to meet one of my former co-workers for a walk during her lunch hour. We used to walk several times a week, and try to keep it up now as often as possible. Have a good day everyone.

I can imagine how depressing all the rain can be, because we were a few weeks ago. Our pond is still very full. We haven't had any rain in a few days now and it would be nice to get some before the weekend.

Glad you are liking your job. I was wondering how it would be for you.

Have a good evening..Becky

Hey Diana, you know how it is here in New England; wait ten minutes and the weather will change. But gosh darn, wish it would get warm and stay warm, had to turn the heat on again this morning to take the chill off of the house. And it always kills me later because then we turn the heat down and open the windows. DH is hoping to get some outdoor painting done today, but I'm not holding my breath. We are so far behind in springtime maintenance that I don't even care anymore!!! How's that for a good positive attitude? Hope you get out for that walk. Hugs. Bea

I know what you're talking about Bea. It's been so damp I've only had one good day to work outside but the grass and weeds seem to be enjoying it. I can almost see them growing inch by inch. I can't believe that it's the middle of May and I'm still running my furnace. My next year's pre-paid oil bill will be based on this year's useage; I hate to think what my monthly payment will be!

78 rpm? You bet I can remember those & I haven't even come close to the closet that they're stored in here! I must have every album (33 1/3 rpm...remember those?) that Frank Sinatra ever recorded. I remember "Maleguena"...considered it exotic. What fun to reminisce!

Hope your day was good, too! Cal
