Okay gals, this is how it went

I was set up for two tests yesterday and easy enough in it's own being, but the gal that had to put the needle in was not my friend------eeeeek, did she hurt me. She not only couldn't find the vein but when she did she went through it and I have one heck of a sore wrist today. It hurts, but it isn't black and blue--yet--it's starting to change color though and pretty swollen too. The actual chest catscan went along well but I don't now the results yet, and the man that told me to take a deep breath and then hold it---oh gosh, he sure had a heavenly voice! Then on to other test, the ultrasound, and no needles in this dept. so I knew that wouldn't be a problem. The technician did the ultrasound, then the endo came in and did the ultrasound again, and they both seemed pleased with what they saw. Now reports have to go back to my own endo and then I guess I will get a call telling me what is what. If these two tests are to their liking then I won't have to have the TBS this year, which is really a pain in the neck and I don't even want to think about it.

This med that I am on for the nervous stomach condition--Klonopin--is just marvelous. I didn't realize that I had this problem for as long as I did but when I look back I can think of many incidences when I would actually get sick and for no reason at all. Yesterday, waiting for the endo to come in to see me I was just fine and cracking jokes with DH while we were waiting. Also we were both remembering that 2 years ago when I had the last ultrasound I was sitting there in the same room and very sick. The dr. couldn't apologize enough to me as he felt so bad that I had to be there, and I knew that it wasn't his fault, but he still felt so bad. So, what I'm saying gals is--that Klonopin sure works great! I am going to my PC Monday to see what he thinks about my change for the better and maybe have to update my other doc in hopes that it doesn't interfere with my other meds from him. Hoping not--I sure love to feel good--as, don't we all? Hugs. Bea

Bea, what are the tests for? I must have missed the post where you first talked about having the tests? I hope it's not anything serious. diana

Diane, these tests are all in relation to the thyroid cancer--I have to go through tests yearly and maybe a little more often if the endo sees fit or anything that may trigger something off. I feel that I am doing good because I had the Total Thyroidectomy (TT) almost 7 years ago. On July 31st of this year I am going to have a big whoop ti do celebration and drink myself silly with my wine coolers in celebration of hitting year 7!!! Hugs. Bea

Thanks for explaining. And enjoy those wine coolers in July--you deserve the celebration after making it to 7 years.

Good for you, Bea. Sure hope the results are such that you don't have to go through the other test that you dread. You are much better than I about going for your check-ups. I just go to the doctor if I'm sick, and don't schedule the follow-up testing. I know, I'm bad, but I hate it so much. It's been almost 12 years for me now - since breast cancer surgery and treatment - and I'm positive it won't ever come back!! Seven years is a big mile-stone - congrats! Rosemary

The news seems good and you do sound so much better. I think itis wonderful that the Klonopin is doing such a good job for you.

I don't like getting the needle either. My veins have never been easy to find and sometime it can a big yikes.

Keeping you in my prayers until all the results are in..Hugs..Becky
