Report on Velma (m)

Hi all. Found out yesterday that my mil Velma has been very sick with sinus and ear infections. The antibiotic made her nauseous and she couldn't keep anything down. Had a problem on the other end too so all in all a very bad flu. We called to check on her today and my fil had to take her into the emergency room for ivs at her dr's suggestion. She was severely dehydrated. After an hour of iv fluids they sent her home. She's pretty weak but feeling a little bit better. At 80, these infections can be pretty scary. So please keep her in your thoughts. We'll be going up there next weekend to deliver her new puter. Hope that will cheer her up.

I got a lot of annuals planted today but still have more to go. When I'm done you're all invited to a tea party in my secret garden. I had some 42-59 WB board friends here last summer for tea (Kaci and Mindy included) but the weather was so bad we had to have it inside. Maybe it'll be better this year!

Enjoy the rest of the day.

hugs, Darby

Thanks for letting us know where Velma has been. It is hard not knowing. I am so sorry that she has been going through all that. When my mother (81) was recently sick with a really bad cold it did seem to take her much longer to snap back. She is fine now and I am sure that soon Velma will be too. Keep us informed..Becky

So sorry to hear that Velma hasn't been feeling well, I was wondering what was happening with her. Hope we get to see her posting soon. As I sit here my DH has been sneezing his head off--now, hoping it's allergies and not a spring cold. Although I'm sure one can be as bad as the other. Your secret garden sounds nice, and hope you get things fixed the way you want it. Sounds like a hobby to you!!! Bea

Darby I am so sorry to hear that Velma has been so ill, it sounds very similar to how I was last week it was certainly more than vertigo which I have experienced in younger years, it really made you feel so sick, it is so easy for us older generation to become dehydrated so I hope she is able to take fluids now, give her my very best regards & hopes that she will soon be on the mend. Does Velma agree with me that getting a little older is not always easy.

HUGS Doreen.
