jiggity, jig!!! I must admit that I wasn't ready to come home...to reality, but here I am with the Closet from Hell, today's grocery store trip with The Folks, the bathroom that STILL needs remodeling, the piles of clothes that need to go to charity (just to mention a few items on my list)...feeling overwhelmed. (WHINE!)

The weather was perfect...70* & sunny. I walked the beach daily while DH biked, after which we'd meet for a late lunch. I always feel so refreshed while there & depressed when I have to leave:-(

Glad that everyone is here...just browsed the names to see who checked in. Will catch up later as I only have 45 minutes to make myself presentable & pick up my parents. Wishing you a pleasant day! Cal

Cal - really glad you had such a nice week-end. And - it isn't that far, right? So you can bop over there whenever you need a "fix". It's like me and the beach - just a drive there can make all the difference!

I have adopted a new philosophy about big jobs - might work for you. It's called "baby steps" and can apply to any task, even fitness, etc. So instead of facing the whole big problem, just do one or two little baby steps each day - they add up. Instead of moaning about having to lose 20 pounds, just eat one less cookie today, etc. The closet from hell - how about tossing 2 things each day?

Hope you have a great day - of course your main "baby step" today is to be with your parents - that's important too! Rosemary

So good to have you dance back in today. I hope that all your errands went off with out a hitch this morning and that the trip to the grocery was uneventful.. Why is it always so hard to come home to reality after a good vacation? I look forward to getting a way for a few days the end of this month.Becky

Welcome back Cal. Lake Michigan is so beautiful. One year we went to a wedding in MI and stayed at a B&B along the lake. It was the July 4th weekend and you could see Chicago's fireworks from across the lake.

You get around like I do. When you went to see your friend in no. Il, I posted and asked you where she lived. I think you left before you read it or you didn't want to say on the board. But now can you say? I'll bet you were very close to me.

Enjoy this beautiful day.

Darby

Glad you had a great time! Most people love to come home, but sounds like you could be a world traveler and love every minute of it. One of my son's lives up near the Great Lakes, and I always forget which one it is but it's only a 5 minute ride by car. They are within walking distance of the canal, and we've been up there during their canal day celebrations--parades, street vendors, music, dancing in the streets, etc. It always amazed me how they have what they call "floating basements" because they are so close to the lake that the poured flooring is not attached to the foundation on the sides so that the flooring can move up and down during high and low water variations. It's only a matter of inches but if attached I think things would probably just crack............Bea
