And good morning to you also, Mindy! I'm glad that the sun is shining for you and that your DGG are close enough for you to have them spend some time with you. Our visits are so rare because of distance in miles, but we keep up via the 'puter and some snail mail cards.

I think you mentioned that you have the old lead pipe out now and copper plumbing in. We also have mostly all copper in the cellar so the problem wasn't in the house; it was the pipe from the street that leads up to our house. In other words, the pipes that they worked on yesterday were owned by the city and all clogged up, but those pipes were in remarkably good condition except for all the sediment that had built up over the years. I think it's the city's responsibility right up to our meter which is in our cellar, and then we would have to have a private plumber for inside. If all goes well--and I don't think the breaking of the sewer pipe was our fault as that was outside where they were digging in the street (sidewalk actually) then the only cost to us is the normal $50 service fee! They didn't really have to dig up our lawn and just messed up a few feet of lawn near where they dug, so DH said he will flatten that and throw in some grass seed. Of course, the patch job on the sidewalk looks just terrible. But, I guess I can't have it all, can I? I'm just glad that they got as much done as they did. Bea
