We had a nice day in London -

We just had time for a quick sandwich before the play. I'm not a Shakespeare fan, but seeing Richard III at the Globe Theater is worth doing! It was long, the sun was hot, and I was really tired after it was over. We had seats - but a lot of folks were standing in the center of the theater - the really cheap "seats"! I think it's the first time I've been hot for 5 months! We decided to walk along the river a bit - lots of tour boats were plowing up and down the Thames. We came to a sidewalk cafe/bar - and opted for a beer. That cooled us down a bit, so we kept on walking. We came to Trafalgar Square - full of activity, museums, shops, and restaurants! We were hungry by this time, so we found this little Italian place - absolutely the best pizza I've ever had in my life. It was run by a family - and the cutest little girl - maybe about 14 - was working behind the counter, fixing drinks, washing glasses, and doing odd jobs. We had a really good time just watching them all work together, and stuffing ourselves with pizza and salad. Then we took the subway back to our bus stop - and came home - got here just after 10:00. This is our last time in London for this trip - we'll be at the airport a couple of times yet - but not in the city. I'm just getting to know my way around it.

I need to get to bed - but still feel a bit "wired". Dh is already sawing logs! It is so warm here that I've taken the duvet off the bed - never thought I'd have to do that. Hope you all have a pleasant evening - see you tomorrow. Rosemary
