Good morning all -

It's another summer-like day here in Oxford. DH and I played tennis again - it was revenge for me. He beat me badly on Monday - I won today! I have to go to the shops, as usual, then I'm heading into Oxford to see the "Eights" - the boat races on the Thames between the colleges - in crews of 8 men. It goes on all week - in a ladder-like scheme, and the finals will be on Sunday. We will be gone on the week-end, so I want to see some of it today. I'll take a blanket - sit along the river - and DH will meet me there after he leaves the office. I think there will be food and drink being sold - so it should be very pleasant.

Bea - we really need to hear from you today. Hoping you got good news with the reports. Becky must be having a ball in DisneyWorld - somehow a week there would put me in the home, but I know she will love it. Hope the rest of you have a great day - Rosemary

Another great day in rosemary's life!Good for you.

My #2 dgs will be in London for 6 days the end of August. He's spending a semester in Florance,Italy, with the stopover in London first.I think he will be staying in a collage dorm. My dd is cking that out as we speak.

"somehow a week there would put me in the home, but I know she will love it"

My dh and I will be going to Disney for 4 nights next week. It's much more than an amusment park. You can have a wonderful time and never set foot in the parks. We do spend a lot of time in Epcot, though, and I still enjoy rides.Staying on the property makes a big difference. There is tennis, golf and on and on.

Hey--I'm not on the payroll! martha

Hmmmmm, I just posted to you and it went to cyberheaven. Anyway, back again. It sounds interesting watching the races on the Thames and would it be the same as sculling? They have sculling on the Charles in Boston, but the most we see of that is the one minute blurb they may put on the t.v. news. We don't spend too much free time in Boston because of all the hustle and bustle and the parking problems, etc. And lately I'm just getting to associate Boston with medical and it's not something I look forward to anymore.

Had to go in there yesterday, got my x-ray pictures and will deliver them to my dr. today, so still don't know any more than before. This past weekend being the holiday here is what held up the copies being made in Boston.

Excuse my "angry" icon, I just can't believe that the pop up told me that it couldn't post to that page. Hope I don't lose this one. Have a great day! Your tennis playing sounds great and sure sounds like your in great physical shape! ;-) Bea

What a nice day you have planned! The weather sounds like it's co-operating. DH & I had a picnic last Sunday after his bike ride & it was so pleasant. Have you taken any pictures while in England & if so, will you post them when you get back...please? Enjoy! Cal

P.S. Congrats on winning the game this morning:o)

DH is the photographer of our family - and he still does it the old fashioned way - with film! If I can get my scanner working when I get home, I'll post some pictures - it didn't want to cooperate last time I tried it. The picnic sounds nice. Rosemary

Wow - DGS will love Florence. Will he be living with a family there? Does he speak Italian? That's my problem in other countries - I'm not good at languages.

As far as Disney goes - we took the family for our one and only time in 1981 - right when Epcot opened. We stayed in the very modernistic hotel (then) that the monorail went right through. It was all very nice - but we stood in line for 45 minutes to do a 5 minute ride! I'd rather go to a resort on a lake, ocean, mountains, etc. and not have to wait in line for everything. Maybe they have improved it - but still not my cup of tea. Hope you have a great time though - I know I'm the odd ball here! LOL. Rosemary

Yes, Bea - they will be 8-man sculls. And women - the women's colleges will be represented too. I love to watch them - have seen them in Princeton - such a team effort and great exercise. I'm just ready to head out now - see you later. Rosemary

Far from an odd-ball I think I'd love to pal with you.

My GS has rented an apt. with a roomy. The school sends a list of realtors and then they do it themselves. He loves the art world so he will be in his glory. As far as the language that is one of the things he will be taking .Home now he has tapes and books to get a bit of a start. The sad thing is the kids were all told to "not look American".Sad isn't it?

Oh, and if I could give you a tour of Disney I think you'd even like it.Becky is staying in the hotel you were in.You would not believe the place from '81,that hotel is about the same though.martha
