No, I don't have any answers yet. Yesterday had to go to Boston to pick them up--they actually gave me what look like the actual x-rays, and she explained to me that they are all on microfilm and they have to copy them when other dr.s want to review them. The dr.s in there just look on the microfilm. Anyway, what a trip to Boston--heavy traffic all the way and DH decided he would make it easier for me to get to the dept. that I have to go to to pick up these films. So, he drops me off at the other door ?????, haha, that was a crock. There I was, just had to go up to the fourth floor. Well, this hospital is sure set up strange and when you don't know your way around. First, I had to go through this humongous swinging door, and these other two women told me to hop in and go around with them and don't touch anything because the doors will stop and we will be stuck. Oh great, glad they told me. Then inside, to a lobby that I am not at all familiar with--can't get to the the 4th floor, but go to "those" elevators--as she points to them--and go up two the 2nd floor, from there go to the left and the right and more elevators that will take me to the 4th floor. Well, being the big girl that I am--I found it, completely to my amazement. Got my records, signed my life away, and went back to the same elevators and reversed the "down" procedure, got off at the 2nd floor and went to the right and then to the left and thoroughly expected to find the elevators to the lobby. Well, no elevators--and about two other women looking for the same elevators. I am at this point on a balcony that I can look right down and see those huge swinging doors that I have to go out to get back to the street. Finally, found some stairs. Down I went and headed straight for the swinging doors, so proud of myself that I found my way out.

Uh oh, wrong street. Now what? So back through these doors again, hoping the people in the next compartment of these doors don't touch anything, I'm now not in the mood to be stuck. Anyway, started slowly walking looking for something that I would recognize, and yep, there it was, the first elevators that I went up on. Hmmmmm, and straight ahead, on the other side of the lobby are more huge swinging doors. I went to them, and yep, it was the right one. Now, all this took me about a half hour. Waited outside for about 10 minutes, and finally went to the main street so that whenever I saw DH in the car he wouldn't have to come down the one way street. Finally saw him, asked him where he had been--he said he just went around the block. Yikes, traffic is just terrible.

I honestly think that next time I will go in the front door, walk the quarter of a mile to get to the elevators that I want and at least be sure of getting there and back again. It sure was an experience. My gosh, can I make a story out of "nothing" or what? Today, will deliver the x-rays to my own doc. I am sitting on pins and needles. I read the report with the x-rays--my hands should be slapped. But I couldn't understand it anyway. All I know is that I'm here today and the sun is shining, so that should account for something!

A good day to all. Sorry if I bored you. Bea

Funny lady - Bea. I think every hospital I've ever been in is the same way - too many additions, departments, etc. You really have to know where you're going. Glad you didn't get stuck in there! Rosemary

Great story and you told it well. You should get a medal for getting the xrays--finding them and getting out.Did you have to retrive them?or does this just make it sooner for you to know the results?martha

Gee! I thought you were describing Emory University Hospital in ATL. We had to take FIL there several times, after the first few trips, I asked DH to let me die in peace. Teehee! lottie77
