I have another summer day to enjoy here - I do really appreciate the sun! Yesterday the boat races were such fun. I went down about 4:00 - the place was really alive with young people, and a few old farts like me! LOL! The area where they race is lined with boat houses - each one shared by three or four colleges. These boat houses are like huge garages - with racks for the long sculls, and for the oars. Upstairs there are bars, lounges, and decks to watch the race from. These boat houses were all bursting with people - cheering on their boats, etc. When DH joined me, we found a neat place to sit - right on the landing where they were getting into and out of the boats - not an easy thing, with 8 people getting into a boat that is only about 14 inches wide! He braved one of the lounges and got us a beer and some potato chips - so I was happy as a clam. Then after the last race, it was 7:00 pm, we went to our favorite pizza place and had supper. I was one tired puppy last night - and still feel stiff. Sitting on concrete for 3 hours didn't help!

Today is an easier day - I have to hit the shops again - DH needs Listerine, and I think I'm going to get some pale nail polish! Yes - you gals inspired me!! Then I have ironing to do, and a little packing for the week-end at DD's. I'll bike down to the RR station about 4:00, meet DH and catch the 4:25 to Stafford. I'm looking forward to our visit - will do some shopping, celebrate DSIL's birthday, and our anniversary. We want to get them some lawn furniture for their garden - it's so pretty and they have nothing comfy to sit on! That will be for their anniversary in July!

I'm going to do my stretching exercises - try to get my juices flowing again - then get out to the shops. Have a great day - Rosemary

Sounds like a great day. We have a huge canoe race the first weekend in June on a river near us. Some of the portages at the dams are rough but fun to watch the manuevers. Our son used to live on the river so it was neat to have breakfast out on their lawn and watch from there, but now he moved into his house. Oh well.(Btw we got them patio furniture for a house warming present.)

Does this mean I have to do something with my nails to keep up with this board? Actually I should polish them just to cover up the ground-in garden dirt! LOL!

Have a good day. Love reading about your adventures.

Hugs, Darby

So glad you enjoyed the races and able to find a seat and enjoy chips and beer at the same time. And going out for dinner makes it a double treat. Happy Anniversary to you, whenever it is. Hope it's a happy one and I just know that you and DH will find something special to do. Uh oh, the nail bit--but I don't think I can be shamed into it, it's been such a lifelong habit and has never been top priority with me. Of course, that could be unfortunate especially when I want to dress up and look nice. Oh well........Bea

Well - I'm polished - both fingers and toes - as we speak! Doesn't improve the total package much, but I feel a bit neater! Maybe gloves should make a come-back! LOL. Rosemary

Have a happy time with your anniversary and DSIL's birthday. Only 41 years...? It does seem like yesterday, doesn't it? Ours was 45 in January, and I still can't believe it. lottie77
