Good day. We took a boat ride from the environmental center a short distance from here. They have a pontoon boat that holds about 20.There was a naturalist aboard to identify the birds. We have so many in our lagoon. Both the white and the brown pelicans, four kind of heron, stork , vultures, ibis, and so on.The very first national preserve is Pelican Island. The birds nest there and there are hundreds of them there. All kinds, not just the pelicans.

Today was a perfect boating day. This was all ground we did often when we had our pontoon boat.It was good to be out there and on such a perfect day.The porpoise even gave us a show. All in all wish I could have you all aboard with us.

Came home and did get over to the pool.As I said--good day.

Now Judi, you really are working. Hope that the sales are good.Do you start the garage sale on Fri? martha

What a terrific day you had. I would have loved to go with you all. I always see so many birds when I am visiting FL. My friend Helen has a big blue heron that comes right in her backyard and I love to see it.

I was working all day and it is too hot outside and the mosquitoes are awful right not.

So much for our town.

Becky

That sure sounded like fun and it's always nice to learn about and see nature first hand. We have a lot of pontoon boats on this pond, which we don't have one but DH always wanted one and I guess it's my fault we don't as I've always told him to please sell the other two boats that we have and don't use anymore, which he didn't. And now, it's kind of getting to the point that I think we are getting a little too "elderly" to put it mildly to be buying a boat at this stage of the game.

We have the Canadian Geese which go by here every day, and we are told not to feed them because of their droppings and contamination/pollution that they could cause. Also have mallards go by--both of these (mallards and geese) travel in families and are so cute to watch and see how they take care of their little ones. I find it interesting that the Mallards only travel with the mother in front and the little ones follow, but the Canadian Geese travel with mother in front and father in back with the little ones in a straight line in between, and if one of them strays even on inch from the leader, the father pokes his long neck and beak at that little one and gets him back in line in short order. Nature is so wonderful to take time to enjoy!

Have a good day. Bea

What a nice day you described, Martha! It seems that there's always something interesting to do where you live & you're wise to take advantage of it. Love hearing about your adventures. Wishing you an equally as nice day today! Cal
