At least I finally got here

I'm beginning to wonder just what my problem is with iVillage. But, since I've used up all my 'puter time trying to get here, this is it. Good morning to all and hope you all have a good day. A boat just went by with a lonely fisherman in it, and don't know if he's catching anything or not. It's only in the 50's today, and I am back into a winter sweater for survival. Yesterday we went to the canal and had a great clam plate dinner, then browsed through a few of the stores in that area, and picked up 6 rolls of film of the parade that was last weekend. Some shots are good and will have to put them on disc. Ahem, DH will have to show me--as I don't know how. So much for me to learn, and yet I want to get moving here and get some outside work done, but weather won't cooperate.

Saw my friend yesterday also that had thyroid surgery, and they discovered she had two types of cancer. She had the surgery about 6 months ago, and even though she says she is doing good I kind of have my doubts. She just doesn't look good at all of which I am sad to say. She must be down to about 80 lbs, and can't seem to get an ounce of her weight back. She had the kind of ca that is hereditary to her family--she had 8 children, and one of them already had to have her thyroid removed. I guess we can thank the Lord for every day that we have and enjoy our good health.

Hugs to all, didn't mean to get on that subject, but I can't help but think about her. Have a good day! Bea

Prayers for your friend.I too thank the good Lord for each day that I'm able to do and go.I have far too many friends that are not in good health.Bea, I'm not sure how old you are, but are you finding that your friends, after they reach 80, turn up with so many problems? That 80 mark scares me.Have a few to go yet soo I'm enjoying the here and the now.

Your day along the canal is just the kind of day I love. That and being on a boat in any puddle of water.martha

Bea this is summer, where is your good weather? 50 is to

cold for me. Its only going to be 96 today here. Bea I had

me thyroid killed about 8 yrs ago, I got lot thinner than I am

now. I wonder if your friend is back on thyroid meds yet, that

may be one of the reasons that she is still so thin. Is she

having chemo?. Best wishes to you and your friend. Betty hugs.

Sorry to hear about your friend...it seems that sooner or later cancer touches everyone's life in one way or another. The good news is that there are so many more survivors now.

Hope your day is good, too, Bea. Cal

You are so right in saying that we should thank the lord for our good health. I try to look at others around me to see just how lucky I am.

I am glad you are enjoying your lovely lake even though it is pretty nippy up there still.

Now you listen to your DH when he gives you your lesson on putting the pictures on a CD. It is really pretty simple if you have a good program for doing it. We just got a CD ReWriter and the system I used before was so easy. I finally sat down today and figured this new one out..

Yep, I intend to watch the whole procedure from beginning to end on how to get those pictures on the disc. First off, have to drag out the scanner, it seems we have it down on a lower shelf because here at the lake we don't seem to use it too often. What is holding me up is that I have to pick and chose what pictures I really want on that disc. At home we have over 112 photo albums, all with pictures over the years. The old fashioned way, but I do enjoy being able to just pull out an album and look through a few. And on with my day..............have a good one. Bea
