Hope all of you are well rested and ready to have a good day.I'm doing my usual, exercise and then I do hope to pull clothes from my overstuffed closet to bring to the thrift.I'm going to try and stay away from stores--they cost too much.Gee, you go in for a bottle of milk and it can cost you $25 easy.I know--shop with a list.I am doing that more than I ever did and it does help.

Oh, a 12 year old boy was killed by a gator yesterday.I remember when they were endangered species. Now they are all over the place. We get them in here at times.

They took three 10 footers out where the boy was killed. They always try to get the one that attacks. If people would not feed them they would be a bit more afraid of humans.

See ya later--martha

Yikes! People feed the gators? What could they be thinking!? How sad about the boy...my DGSs age..what a tragedy!

I know what you mean about stopping in for 1 item...as I did at Sam's yesterday. Even a list doesn't help me since what I need is usually at the back of the store & I have to pass all of those other tempting things that are calling to me:o) I should ask DH to go...he's in & out with just what he went after.

Happy day! Good luck with that closet. Cal

OMG, how terrible about the 12 year old boy. Wondering if he was with parents or with his friends and thinking that feeding gator's would be fun. Didn't a woman just lose her arm a week or two ago to a gator also? You must be fairly near the water or along an inland waterway. Hope you keep your distance.

As far as closet cleaning, when your done with yours your more than welcome to come up here and clean mine out too. I have way too many clothes, go into the stores too often, and am always finding a bargain too good to resist and they always seem to be the right size. Yesterday, bought the cutest pair of clam diggers, or do they call them capris now, for only $3.00 in Walmart. They had only one pair left and it was in a very basic light blue, so I bought it knowing it could be returned if it didn't fit. But aha, it fit perfect. Next WalMart I went into, they had a whole rack of these same capris, and they were all $19.98! Now, how could I resist this $3.00 bargain?

Anyway Martha, you mentioned age, and about how our older friends reaching 80 are starting to not be so healthy. Yes, I have friends in the 80's bracket, and I am sad to say that they moved to Florida about 4 years ago and I haven't seen them since. They went there partially for the health reasons and better climate--she says it rains every day though and they aren't as warm as they would like to be. He ended up in a rehab a few years ago from a fall that he never could really fully recoupe from, she ended up getting dragged by a car--she was getting out of the back seat and the driver thought she was out and started the car. This poor woman ended up with a broken shoulder and a year of therapy and is refusing surgery as she is about 88 now. We have other friends older than us that I notice they are more intent on keeping up with dr. visits--problems that if nipped in the bud they can seem to live with it and be comfortable. Alas and alack, I thought I was a pretty healthy specimen, and now I'm starting--but I'm only 65 (you mentioned not knowing my age) and had my thyroid out at 58 and have been coping with problems relating to that ever since, and now that darn nervous stomach, and to look in the mirror and see rosacea, and get the report on the liver spots!!! Holy Sha-mo-ly--I'm falling apart. Well, the list is getting longer and longer, I'm writing down all my ailments for my upcoming August dr. vist. I do notice that if it hurts it seems to be nothing as serious as the illnesses that don't hurt and just lurk there waiting to erupt.

Wow, what a soap I got off onto this morning. Sorry about that Martha. I hope you are feeling better, I noticed you said that you had a few "down" days, and I guess we all seem to get those once in awhile. Every once in awhile I look at my DH and feel very "down" about that as he is only ½yr older than me, and he just seems to ache from head to foot. I've been pretty good as far as the arthrits goes, shhhhhhh, but he's sure feeling it and he has that RSDS disease started up by a minor hand injury.

Enough of this pity party. I was going to write you a happy note to help you feel better. Guess I haven't been too successful, but you sure got a good synopsis of our health history. By the way, did you cook up the cranberries? I'm thinking of cooking up another batch because I really enjoyed having it over my ice cream which I have almost nightly. Tonight is pizza night, DH makes pizza every Thursday night for us--it's his night to cook and that is both summer and winter. Hoping he'll get the bar-b-cue going soon as then he does the meat and I just do the veggies inside. Of all things, he bought me a new set of pots and pans--the last thing in the world that I want. He finally took them out of the box, and there they are, staring me in the face and I haven't even looked at them yet. He's good to me, but this kind of good I can do without.

On with my day, hope your exercising plan goes along well. Do you have access to a swimming pool also. Have a good day. Hugs. Bea

First off Bea, there were three boys that went swimming in a canal. Two of the boys saw the gator and yelled to the one that was taken. He seems to have frozen on the spot and the gator got him.I would not swim in any water in Fl except a pool and the ocean.

Yes, I did cook up the cranberries and plan on having some on ice cream.I have some strawberry shortcake that must be eaten first--but tomorrow vinilla and the cranberries.Bet I'll love it.

Sorry you have all those things to contend with.It is good to catch things in the bud.

Don't know where your friends moved to down here, but we have mostly sunny days. Now we are in our rainy season, but that just is thunderstorms in the late afternoon. We have a pool here just around the corner from my house as is the clubhouse where I exercise. We've been happy with our choice.Several of the ladies I exercise with are in their 80's and still doing it all.Hope that'll be me.

Do you and your dh feel better in the warm weather? martha
