Good morning all -

I've been reading the posts for the last couple of days - can't really go back much farther than that! Some of you are ailing - sorry that you have to deal with health problems. Doreen - so glad you have come through your rough patch, with your usual good form. I had been thinking of you because I'm reading Bill Bryson's book - "Down Under" - and he is one of my favorite writers. He us very critical of America's lifestyle, but he loves Australia - so I was thinking of you a lot this week.

Oxford looked really good to me yesterday as we drove into town on the airport bus. Since we left two weeks ago, the streets have "bloomed" with the hanging flower baskets, and window boxes on almost every building. It is really beautiful. And the roses are all in full bloom - the weather here has been really warm, so it has helped the flowers. After being in northern Europe - I can appreciate the milder climate here in England. We had a really good cruise, but I'm not a very good tourist - and got really tired of being scheduled for something at every minute. DH and I get along just wonderfully, as long as we don't spend too much time together! LOL. So - it was very nice to have him go off to the office this morning, and I can get on with my day. I have to shop for food - just the right amount for 3 days - no left-overs! Also DD and family are coming tomorrow, so I need to plan good things to have. Also need to get into Oxford center and get some gifts to bring home to friends, etc. Thought I could get things on the cruise - but couldn't find anything that didn't scream "tacky" all over it! But you should have seen the people - buying it up. I did find the ultimate Norwegian sweater - totally hand-knit and a bit different from the thousands that we saw at every stop.

Well - it's good to be back with you - don't know how much time I'll have to post in the next 3 days - between visiting with DD and getting the flat cleaned and packed up - I'll be busy. But - best wishes to all of you - be well - be happy - and enjoy the spring. The big thing here is Mid-summer's eve - tomorrow night. It stays light here until after 10:00 pm., and there will be big parties tomorrow. Have a great day - Rosemary

Oh what a treat to see your post this morning. I am glad you are back from your cruise and that you enjoyed yourself. I had to smile about what you said about your DH as that is what I say about mine too.

I can't believe it is time for you to come back to America already. Time certainly does fly. I know you are anxious to be getting home soon, but now I am wondering if you will be a bit homesick for England. It goes without saying that you will miss the closeness of your DD and family.

Will keep you in my thoughts and prayers for a safe return to your home.

If we don't see you for a few days we will know that you are busy..

Hugs,

Becky

Good to see you back, Rosemary, and getting back into the swing of things. It sounds like you barely will be unpacked and having company already. But, it sure is nice to be close with the family!

I agree about a scheduled tour/cruise/vacation. DH and I would rather just hop in the car and go wherever it leads us, stay if we like it, or move on if bored. Of course, that doesn't get us across the ocean, but will be happy with just seeing as much of the good ol' USA as I can.

Have a good day! Bea

Thanks for checking in spite of your busy schedule. Make the most of these last days! What an adventure you've had, but I'll bet you'll be glad to be back to NJ! I hope you've taken lots of photos and kept a journal. Actually you could print out your posts here for your journal. They have been so interesting. Thanks.

Hugs, Darby
