Had a great weekend!

The wedding was beautiful with 6 bridesmaids and 7 male attendants. There were 2 best men, one of them a Marine who just returned from Iraq. I gave him a big hug even though I never met him before! My ddil of course was the prettiest bridesmaid of them all.

The only problem was dil's mother (bride's aunt) who had the security tag still on her dress. She didn't notice til that day and didn't have time to do anything about it before the wedding. So between the wedding and the reception we took her to the store so they could remove it. They were very sorry that they hadn't removed it when she bought it so they issued her a store credit. Very nice. They didn't even ask to see a receipt!

Dinner was great and I'm so glad we decided to stay overnight. After 2 cosmos and a glass of wine plus dancing I was happy to walk the short distance to our room and crash!!!

Today we took the scenic route home through the Kettle Moraine Forest and found a lovely place for breakfast that had many shops and a pancake house. Mindy, that would be a nice ride for you and mr. Dick, It's MIllie's near Walworth. Email me if you want directions.

Weather was absolutely perfect all weekend. Wish we could bottle these days and open them up in January!!!

Hope you all had nice weekends too.

Hugs, Darby

Nice weekend and good it went well, Except for the security tag that is. She must have been embarrassed.

Rest easy tonight and have a good upcoming new week.

Becky

Darby, it's so nice to hear about your great weekend & I agree that staying at the hotel was the way to go...to be able to relax, enjoy yourself & not worry about driving home!

Hugs to you, too! Cal

What a strange thing to happen to Kristen's mom. I would be so afraid that they'd accuse me of stealing the dress. I too wonder why it didn't set off an alarm when she left the store.

Sounds like you had a good weekend. I think staying overnight was a very good idea. It makes the occasion so much more relaxing. A two hour drive after the festivities would not have been a good thing.

Sounds like all went well and a lot of fun had by everybody. That was a real hoot about the security tag still being on the dress, and I really wish that the stores would be more careful about removing those things. Sometimes they damage the merchandise in doing so also. I bet that Marine enjoyed getting that hug and nice for him to realize that he is appreciated and there are people thankful for the job they are doing for us to keep our freedoms. Have a good day!
