Good Wednesday A.M.!

Today will be busy with errands for both us & my parents. I'm trying to tie up loose ends

before leaving for vacation next Tuesday<-!

Tonight will be fun. My DGD (14 yr. old) called me last night to ask if I would take her to Sam's to buy a book. She snuck in a request for dinner out together & a small "Flavor of the Week" before going home. Everyone please cross your fingers that she won't have one moody teen age moment tonight:o) She's a complete joy one moment & a pain the next...pretty typical, I guess.

I think Rosemary will be home today. I wonder how long the flight from England to the USA is. Worth every hour (both ways), I'm sure!

Although I love retirement, it's much different than I thought it would be. I didn't realize that work was so much of my social life...that my friends were those with whom I worked & that work was our common bond. I do miss the daily contact! I thank God everyday that I have you all in my life!

Well, I'm off to start my day. Good day wishes to all! Cal

Sure hope your dinner and night out with DGD will be special - I'm sure it will be. Our flight home was almost 7 hours exactly - which is about an hour faster than it used to be, coming this way! These new planes fly faster. It is under 6 hours going to England - tail wind helps.

I can appreciate your missing your social contacts - it does broaden your world to be with people. I feel like I've been in a cave the last few months - and am just crawling out and there are wonderful people out here! Your month vacation sounds wonderful - what a treat. Enjoy every minute of it. Sounds like a good day.Your dgd must love her gm to ask to go to dinner too. Have a wondeful time.

One of the reasons a community like I'm in is nice, is because we all are retired. Most do some voulunteer work and then enjoy what they wish to do here.Ten years here and we both like it. martha

I never worked in my married life, but when DH retired our life seemed to change almost immediately.

I hope that your vacation is going to be special. I got to wondering who will be checking in on your parents while you are gone. I always get one of my sisters or my brother to come stay here now that my dad has passed away.

Hope you evening was with DGD will be excellent.

Becky
