I've been busy all day -

got a call about 9:00 wanting me to play tennis - so I was eager to go. Found out that the friend I was playing with, was dealing with a broken refrigerator - how well I remember!! - so I suggested they come for dinner tonight. Then, I also invited my neighbot too, so it will be a nice mix. That kept me moving - since I had to go to the store, clean up our new patio, which we've never had the chance to use, and get all the food ready. I've cooked the veggies and the meat on the grill already, will just re-heat them in the micro-wave. So it will be easy to serve. I also made a big bowl of gazpacho - so that sounds good to me. In between I've kept up with the tennis matches at Wimbledon - so it's been a good day.
Cal - I can understand your yearning to be by the lake - I'm feeling the same way about getting to the shore - we will go next Saturday - can't wait. Doreen - so glad you are enjoying Bill Bryson - did I tell you I met him in Oxford, and I have a signed copy of two of his books? He's moving back to England, after trying to live in the US for a few years - didn't like it. Bea - your lake sounds so perfect - I'd love to be jumping in for those quick swims.
So - hope you all are enjoying the day - I'm off to set out the cheese to soften, and make more ice. Rosemary

It sounds like your getting right back into the swing of things, no pun intended! Hope your tennis game and your dinner went along well. It's always fun to have a different mix of friends. Our company season will be starting very shortly and we never know from day to day what the next knock on the door will bring! Today we have raindrops, but sparse right now, and it's a lot cooler, so guess I won't be jumping n the lake. Have a good day. Bea
