When the windshield was replaced yesterday, the company handed Ted a copy of the bill and it was $400! Yikes, all I can say is thank God we have insurance that covers it. Many people don't have comprehensive, but we have always carried it; we will have a sticker inspection coming up soon and if the ding was still in the windshield it wouldn't have passed.

Then, while at home, DH cut the grass, both front and back yards and that back yard is pretty big and even with the rider mower it still takes time. Then he trimmed all the bushes, sprayed the posion ivy again and shot himself right in the eye but thankful that he got to the faucet right away and flushed it out. Then he crawls in the house and tells me he is so exhausted and he's not as young as he used to be. So after calming down with a cold glass of tonic on our front porch we proceed to come back to the lake.

He got in one section of the dock and we have 3 more sections to go. I stayed right there with him as he's right, he's not as young as he used to be. He aches from head to foot and his hands hurt him so bad. I'm just wondering how many more years we can do this--he always has pushed himself beyond his limits, and I don't think that is too good as the years creep up on you. Oh well, I will now get into my bathing suit and be ready for "just in case" he decided to do more work on the waterfront.

Hugs to all. Bea

My DH never tells me that he not getting any younger, but it does go without saying. We live on this acreage in the country and there is ever so much to keep cut and trimmed in the growning season and in the South that growning season is long. My DH will not pace himself though and goes at any job as if there is no tomorrow.

Hope you hubby is taking today off for a bit of R&R. It sounds like he definitely needs it.

Becky

It sure sounds like he's pushing himself to the limits. You really do have to pace yourself when you have all that work to do.An injury would not be welcome.Thank goodness his eye is OK.It's very hard to admit you're not as young as you used to be--but remember your one of the lucky ones that made it to retirement.

Enjoy that lake-don't be a slave to it.

Everything is just going up in price as the interest rates go down!Three things we want to do when our dd comes the end of the month have all jumped in price.martha
