7/8 ... Had a Good Day Today

I went to my 83 year old aunts house and asked her if she wanted to go for a ride. I wanted her to show me the cemetery where her baby brother was buried over 80 years ago. Her grandparents are buried there too. We then took a long ride in the area that she grew up and then out to eat. She seemed to enjoy it imensely and it was enjoyable to me too.

Last night was a rough one around here. There were a lot of funnels sighted around here. The closest one was about 5 miles from my house. Luckily the ones that touched down were out in the marsh or in the fields and didn't hurt anything. Tonight we're suppose to have storms again and a cool front is suppose to come through. Thank God. I'm so sick of this steamy weather. Boy what I'd do for an air conditioner. Oh well, maybe some day.

Tomorrow will be my first day back to work since my dads funeral. I was suppose to be on vacation but decided I would prefer to take it at a later time, maybe September. Good night my friends. Sleep well...... kaci

September is such a beautiful time of year here in New England also, probably one of my favorite times. I like it better than spring--what spring--didn't get one this year. Phew, those funnel sightings sound scarey and hope that none of them touch down too close. I'm sure your aunt really appreciated your spending some time with her and taking her for the ride; those things mean so much to people of age 83. Family time together is so precious! Have a good day. Hugs. Bea

Sounds like a nice day Kaci. Your aunts are such neat people. I'll bet they really appreciate you too.

Any chance your kids can all pitch in to buy you a room AC for your bedroom? I think they've come way down in price and they are necessities in this heat!

Hugs, Darby

Oh my, tornatos are a real fright.I'm glad they missed towns.Do you have a celler?

Don't work too hard, but you most likely will enjoy your vacation better when you settle down from all you've been through.martha

She's a very sweet person and I really enjoy spending time with her. She's widowed and never had any children so she's very lonely. Also, she's so very appreciative when I come over. But I think I enjoy it as much as she does. She's now the oldest member of the family and I hate the thought of loosing her. I hope it'll be a long, long time.

I love September too. I don't know if I prefer Spring or Fall though. Both are much better than the hot, hot summers and the cold Wisconsin winters. I've never been to New England, but would love to do so sometime. I hear that the fall colors are teriffic.

I love spending time with my aunt. I keep thinking that if each of her nieces & nephews would come to visit her once every two months, she'd have someone there once a week. She also enjoys seeing my grandkids, my brothers grandkids and my cousins grandkids. Unfortunately, nobody seems to have time these days.

I've thought of getting one for my bedroom, but I'm a little afraid of what it would do to the electric bill. Are they very expensive to run?

Yes, tornados are very frightening. I'm especially concerned about them since we once heard one go directly over our house. It was many years ago and luckily it didn't lower over our house. unfortunately it did when it got to town. There were many homes damaged and there were some deaths too.
