The ol' air conditioner went out this afternoon! We got home from buying groceries a little before noon, and thought that it wasn't as cool as it should be in the house. After a little research, DH found that the unit was icing. There is a leak of the coolant (I think it's Puron now), which we have known about since last year. The system just needs some added each year, and it hasn't been done yet. This means in order to stay comfortable, we have to go to the basement. That isn't as inconvenient as it used to be, because the living space down there is almost finished.

We'll have some rocky road ice cream tonight, with your favorite beverages.

I need to read the rest of the board. lottie77

I sure hope you all get the air conditioner working by tomorrow. If you all are as hot as we are here, you must really need it.

That Rocky Road sounds so good and I will have one very small scoop.

No AC--No good. My goodness, some of this weather this summer has been unbelievable. We only have an AC unit in our bedroom here at the lake, and it's not very often that we have to use it, but it's nice to know that it's there if needed. Have used it once this summer so far. It's an old unit, about 30 years old, and we bought it then because our dog had breathing problems and could only breathe with the AC so we put it in our bedroom window at home, and DH and I practically ended up with pneumonia but the dog did very well. Anyway, after our little Boo-Boo died, we put the AC away and never needed it because our house stays cool and very comfortable on it's own, and we do have the iciest and coldest cellar you every went into. Aren't they just wonderful--it sounds like you have an old home too, or am I wrong. Now, this place on the lake, we keep all windows open for the air to blow through, and it catches the heat and humidity but we have the lake to jump into to cool off. Completely different lifestyle. My favorite though--the old house at home, boy, is that thing built well. Aaaaaaaah well, can't have it all, I guess. Hope your AC gets fixed soon. Hugs. Bea
