We were busy beavers yesterday and today. Yesterday we went up the road to the cabinet shop to pick out the counter top material for the vanity downstairs. I think we've found a perfect match as far as colors are concerned; we had to match the colors in the wall and keep in mind the color on the tile on the floor etc. I do think everything will turn out OK. This time, I'm not listening to anyone about 'neutral colors' (just in case you want to sell the place). I fought long and hard when the place was built originally; if everyone else had had their way everything would have been beige. UGH! Sorry, if I stepped on any toes, but I HATE beige. DH has always said 'Whatevery you like'; but, everyone else would think of reasons to keep it 'neutral'. Well, I'm the one who's lived here for 36 years and I hope I'm here until I die. So they had hissy fits over my red carpet in the living room, deep blue in the master bedroom, green in the guest room, and the brightest red you ever saw in this room. I think Bea and Cal would have been on my side. Am I correct?

Our nephew who had installed the ceiling tiles came yesterday afternoon to finish the last bits of tile in the dressing room, bathroom and the walk-in closet. The work looks beautiful; we couldn't have gotten a better job if we had paid money! He was going to do the work for no money, but I couldn't have that. I signed over my ten year old car that had low mileage to him. I had gotten a different car just a month or so before he started the job.

We have had rain every day except today, and I think more is in store for tomorrow. Would someone check my back to see if there is mold on it, please? At least, we haven't had some of the problems that others have had in our state. We're very lucky.

Well, shut my mouth! I'd better put out a break before ya'll throw me off of the board!

We will have a Krispy Kreme doughnut cake and peach ice cream. Tea, coffee, 7up, Coca Cola to drink. lottie77

My opinion is that you have to look at your carpets and paint everyday and keep it clean so why shouldn't you have what gives you enjoyment especially after 35 years in the same house.

I bet your bathroom is really looking nice and how lucky to have someone you trust to do the work. Really sweet of you to turn your car over to him. I feel sure the good job he is doing is worth it.

Now how on earth did you know I was craving something sweet. Maybe just a wee piece ot that Krispey Kreme doughnut cake with a dollup of peach ice cream. Don't know what that cake is like, but it sure sounds scrupmtious.

I must confess, I've never had a Krispy Kreme doughnut cake either. Robyn Spizman had one on TV the other day. I think there is a bakery in ATL that makes them. The cake was made of layers of doughnuts with icing piped into every hole. The thing must be absolutely delicious, because they said that brides were ordering them for the receptions. Alas, I guess I've eaten my very last Krispy Kreme, although I did eat a very small sliver of my niece's birthday cake the other day; I'm still here to tell about it. lottie77
