my sister and i,today, took our daily ride to check on the goose who decided to nest in front of a vacant jewels store. when we go there, the nest was empty! my first thoughts were oh my god, something happened..i checked the nest and it was filled with down and not even an egg shell.so i got into my car and drove around the back of the store where there is a lagoon and im happy to report that mother father and as close as they would allow me to get i counted four goslings...i took this pic of them before the dad started hissing at me,as you can see they were on an incline so its hard to see the little ones.its a happy ending story with the kids arriveing just in time for mothers day!! hugs mindy

Yes, they do hide under the mothers feather for protection, and many times the baby swans can't be seen as that is where they hide for protection also.
