I was at Navy Pier in Chicago on Sunday when it was time to head for the RR station to head home. As I had been dragging my suitcase and tote bag around all day, I was too tired to think about trying to figure out the bus system, so I decided to take a cab. First driver I asked about price to station told me he didn't know - "whatever is on the meteor". Heck, I had to know if I could afford the ride. Went to the next cab - young Oriental man. He said around $7, I said "you got a deal, give me a hand with my bags and let's go". Good thing I buckled my seat belt. The route he took is on a lower drive that winds and curves through downtown area. There was very little traffic, so he was flying. Did you ever see the scene in the Chevy Chase/Goldie Hawn movie "Foul Play", where the Oriental couple are in the back of the taxi during a chase scene? That was me - sliding from side to side with the driver talking in Chinese on his ear piece - what a hoot. BTW we got to one of the side doors of the station - driver told me "big traffic tie up on other side". I said fine with me, got out and gave him a tip. I learned later that the main station entrance and a track were being used for filming a movie with Johnny Depp!
