Thought I should post an "up-beat" note - since I'm feeling so much stronger and positive. Today - since I knew so many of you are supporting me at 2:00 - it was really great. The only thing - they forgot me and I waited for almost 45 minutes when usually they are right on the button. But - I had my knitting - and pleasant women to visit with - so not bad. Tomorrow I'll be half-way finished. My leg is feeling some better - the foot is still numb - but should be coming around soon. I'm not fatigued this week - thank goodness. Now - I have to bake some carrot cupcakes - with cream cheese frosting. I have a friend coming for an early lunch tomorrow - she's bringing the shrimp salad - and then after treatment I have 3 fellow cancer patients coming here for our little support group. They are 3 husbands and friends who have all started their fights against lung and/or pancreatic cancer since the first of the year. They all have known me for years - and asked if I could help in a support position. We have met once - and they all found it quite helpful. These three guys have all worked in DH's department - 2 are retired and one still working. They are our best "couple" friends - and what a blow to have all of them become so ill so close together. But - we are supporting each other - and have grown closer in the process. I tell so many people that this is a journey - maybe not the route you would choose, but there are certainly benefits along the way and much joy to share. Each milestone is a celebration - and relationships blossom with the extra care and concern needed.
So - tomorrow will be a good day. Thanks to each of you for your support - I'm so blessed. Take care - stay healthy - those fresh garden veggies sound fabulous - and give at least one person a hug today.

Dear Rosemary,
If I only had one hug to give, I'd reserve it for you.
Hey Rosemary, I hope that luncheon went along well and the carrot cupcakes sound so yummy.
Dear Bea -
You always give me way too much credit - but I love you for it. Actually - my support group is with the husbands - wives are all healthy, but the guys are all facing major health challenges. I tease them that my neighbors are going to start talking about me when these three men drive up and come into the house in the middle of the day - when DH is at work! We have a lot of laughs - some tears - and lots of hugs and support. They are all learning to deal with chemo - the fears and side effects. I have made peace with chemo - it's my friend - has kept me alive for 5 years. It's my safety net - so I have a different perspective that I can share with them. I can barely contain myself these weeks when I'm off the chemo - will be so happy to be back on it after the radiation ends.
So - Thanks again for all the support - I do actually think of you gals each day at 2:00. Rosemary
